  1. I do wonder if some of us fail to realise that it is our solemn duty to keep certain manufacturers and traders in business. Andi
  2. I don't, I don't have a layout as yet, just a lot of track, (blue, grey and 9v metal). I haven't decided what to build as yet, too busy with the OO layouts. Andi
  3. I used power bogies on my 20, the only thing I don't like about is is that the battery box is a different grey to the rest of the body. It uses the older infra-red control system. Andi
  4. I like the 08, not sure my HST or class 86 would fit on your layout but the class 20 definitely would! (Photos may be added if you want but I don't want to disrupt your topic) We need more Lego trains on RMweb. Andi
  5. Can we have a WTF button please? Andi
  6. Calling Your Name - All About Eve
  7. The increase again in real media in the music business (CDs, LPs, even cassettes!) says you may well be right. Andi
  8. the one between the brushes on a Lima motor is a capacitor, an inductor connected across the motor would result in a short circuit. Andi
  9. Brake stick cricket in the 80s at Ipswich. Andi
  10. Something seems to have gone very awry with the Harwich - Hook Of Holland boat train Andi
  11. Layout work continues. I’ve been busy ballasting, board one is almost done except for the bit right outside the tunnel, and there’s three sleepers worth of track to be ballasted on the transition board before it then becomes slab track in the tunnel itself. I’ve been doing a bit of work on the tunnel portal too, the wing walls are quite distinctive, I’ve also redone the top decorative brickwork. Compare with the photo on the first page of the thread. Board two now has most of its platform foundations and some ballast along with all its track painted. Andi
  12. The Redlands certainly sit within my plans, I can remember much excitement on the platforms at Ipswich when a grid came in to run round before heading north again. Now I'm curious! Andi
  13. Will You - Hazel O’Connor
  14. Ah, I've just realised who you are referring to when I re-read your post. Paul is the brother of Keith who was a great friend of mine. Andi
  15. I picked up the 1985 Section LD freight working timetable recently, it's incredible just how much freight came through! The Mossend is a definite need, I'll also be looking at putting together a new show team in due course for both Ipswich and Ravensclyffe. Andi
  16. Why would you want a brake continuity test on a single vehicle train? There's no inter-vehicle brake pipe connections to not be continuous. Andi
  17. And Girl-scout cookies? Andi
  18. It is. Helpfully the plastic backing seems to be affected by MEK too Andi
  19. A hint, the photo is not painted in any way, the checkerplate looking part is actually aluminium and textured. Unfortunately it doesn’t come in very big bits but would be ideal for kickplates on loco doors etc. I'll put the photo up that shows what is is tomorrow :) Andi
  20. Who wants to hazard a guess as to what this is? It’s a household waste product that I’ve either binned or recycled loads of in the past but makes perfect checkerplate.
