  1. They should not be trading without a land address published https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-contracts-regulations Andi
  2. Are Model Junction UK based? I cannot find a land address anywhere on their website. Their "About Us" page is really helpful https://www.modeljunction.info/content/4-about-us Andi
  3. Hi Gordon, please see the PM I sent you, thanks

  4. I don't know where you have got that from, he was UNARMED https://globalnews.ca/news/7010572/george-floyd-arrest-explained/ Andi
  5. Citation needed. Floyd was NOT a criminal at the time he was murdered by the police. Yes he had done time 15 years ago but he had done his time and had 15 years clean. He got stopped by the police for passing a counterfeit banknote, how many of us have done exactly the same without knowing? Change is brought about by protest, protesters are not a "mob", they are people like you and I. Direct action is the only thing left when you have tried all the other avenues and been ignored. We would not have universal suffrage in the UK were it not for the actions of "mobs" of protesters, would you give up your right to vote because you disagreed with the people who rioted to bring about that right? Andi
  6. Any individual who made their money out of the suffering of others, no matter how much of that money they then gave away to salve their conscience, does not deserve to be glorified with a statue to their memory. Andi
  7. Just under 30 hours since last posted... Andi
  8. I don't know if the suggestion has been made already as everything seems to be spread about over several pages and topics/blogs but I really like your plan, the only change I'd make would be to make the turntable double tracked so that when rotated the loco ended up behind the train that is about to depart to the station to then follow it through the then empty road. Andi
  9. Re the Colston statue, the people of Bristol never wanted the damned statue in the first place. The statue was raised by a guy called James Arrowsmith who tried to fund it by public subscription, and failed. He had to put in the last £150 of the £1000 it cost himself as he couldn't get enough from the residents of Bristol to fund it. There had been long running petitions in Bristol for its removal (and the renaming of Colston Hall among other commemorations of Colston), this from a friend of a friend in Bristol Chucking Colston in the river is one way of dealing with him that has brought him out into much better discussion of his legacy and the 19000 people who died in transit and were just dumped in the sea as well as the people who were sold once they got there, how would we react to a statue of Jimmy Savile? As for the plinth? Put Wallace And Gromit on it, with the train! Andi
  10. Try this then FBB, much better that Miseryguts Morrisey Andi
  11. Nowt wrong with Uncle Len, there's a lot of very dark humour in his lyrics. That said, I'm a goth... Andi
  12. The one thing that is missing in the published versions is trap points on the loco spur and siding. If they were added would it still count as Minories? Andi
  13. What class is it? i can't tell from the photo Andi
  14. Matt Hancock, April 24: "The evidence of the use of masks by the general public is extremely weak." Grant Shapps, June 4: "With more people using transport the evidence suggests wearing face coverings offers some - albeit limited - protection against the spread of the virus." They are making it up as they go along. Andi
  15. Ah, I don't know about wiring on Unifrogs. (Goes to look!) Andi
  16. Yes, your guess on the terminal numbers is correct. Assuming you have insulating joiners fitted on the frog rails of your points as per recommended DCC practice (If not then holler now and we can assist!) then the switching contacts of the Tortoise should not be switching under load so will take whatever current your DCC system is putting on the track with no issue. Somewhere I've got a picture of the PCB of a Tortoise which shows the terminals and how they connect into the switch. If i can find it I'll post it as it does help to see what's going on inside that green box. edit: Found it Andi
  17. You say you have a wire going from terminal 4 to the frog, but don't mention if you have terminals 2+3 connected to the rails to feed the switch, or is that what you had realised with your afterthought? Andi
  18. This topic is now nowhere near the topic thread, DC controlled points!
  19. This is the signal and point control screen for Ravensclyffe (It's also the closest I'm ever going to come to publishing the trackplan but that's another story!) The trains on the layout are DCC controlled, nothing else is, the points and signals are controlled via the MERG RPC system from Gordon Hopkins and the control software is MRCCC by the late Stephen Parascandolo of Beckenham And West Wickham model railway club http://www.bwwmrc.co.uk/mrccc/index.shtml Point motors are a mixture of Peco solenoid and Tortoise. DCC is not necessary for point control even via computer, and DCC is probably one of the poorest methods of point control IMHO. Andi
  20. It’s one of the settings controlled by CV29. Andi
  21. Their song Land Sea And Sky names all the class 50s! Andi
  22. The pics i have of 541 in IC livery show normal headcode panels both ends, flat markers at no1 and sealed beam at no2 end. Not my photos though so cannot post them here. Andi
  23. Jumping in onto this topic, I'm looking for a lever frame with electrical locking such that levers can not be moved until an electrical release is provided. I know the Modratec range have this capability but I would prefer something that feels more like a real lever with a latch. Probably looking at somewhere between 12 and 18 levers. Any suggestions?
