I found that my ones suffered from zinc pest in the bogies, both mine now have Heljan internals. The over-long bogie side frames were cut down to the correct length. Before I redid the undergubbins and added the roof tanks Andi

Second radius is 438mm so a circle is 876mm or 34 1/2 inches. Second radius is *just* possible to get round in 3ft Andi

DCC signal timing: Should the bus follow the track?
Dagworth replied to RBTKraisee's topic in DCC Help & Questions
Being as the signal travels at the speed of light 60ft is instantaneous, wire it however is convenient. Andi -

No, definitely not. As Nik said, it's almost certainly a DCC sound board. Andi -

I think there was a service that went from Ipswich to HPQ that was 312s at times, although I wouldn't put money on it. Andi -

All the useless things you have learned whilst in COVID isolation
Dagworth replied to Phil Bullock's topic in Wheeltappers
I was meant to get the washing in while she went back to work today. Guess who forgot? At least she is better now, 19 days of the virus, wouldn't wish it on anyone, even a politician! Andi- 128 replies

On the 1st April I cut this strip of plastic And a few more strips These become the guides for the sliding door windows Four vehicles worth of doors, the TS has a longer centre saloon so the doors are further apart Door skin added and windows cut, then body window guides and structure Inside body sides of one of the DMS vehicles Exterior with body side skins added and windows cut out, windows still to be filed to final shape A pair of rooves and the TS body sides, almost ready to assemble into a complete car For some reason I didn't take any more progress photos until now but the four vehicle carcasses of a class 315. Tumblehomes and rooves to be rubbed down to shape. The end of the TS is slightly on the hurr but that should be able to be sorted out with a file easily enough. Cab windows will be filed to shape once the body sides are the correct profile so I can better gauge their final position. I really should start a proper topic of my EMU construction... Andi

A "qualified yes" The decoder must have DC running enabled, and some types of DC controller are unsuitable. Any "Relco" or similar high-frequency track cleaning device will destroy the decoder. Andi

That type 2 still hasn't moved then? Andi -
That's exactly where mine are from, that and a very old article in Model Railway News. My normal first call when needing drawings is to ask on the DEMU forum as they run a drawing exchange service. Andi

I started this a couple of days before the lockdown started. Class 310 scratch built from plasticard. Even the power bogie is hand built using gears from a surplus Vi-Trains 37 bogie. 310 alongside my 304 that is also under construction. Andi
