A paddle on the end of a rod, and it can be a bit awkward. IMO, after playing with Rob's trainset for 2 days at the show, the only area that needed some work was ease of coupling. It's the usual case of the NEM sockets being at slightly different heights, droopy couplings and sticky hooks that occasionally proved interesting. I did wonder if the mobile sheds could have their full sheep catcher grills fitted and a simple loop of wire substituted for the tension lock. This would improve them visually but also mean that your not hunting around for a hook next to the sheep catcher. Other than that putting some resistance on the very free-running wagon axles, so they don't roll off when being coupled, I couldn't see other work needing doing.

Guard this with your life CK, the Sheep seems to be collecting small, ugly and squished locos and garden sheds... -
I think a model railway show in a pub would be great, particularly if we could set up Ewe on the bar next to the Potholer pump. With regard to the layout height, have stood next to the layout for two days, and occasionally shuffled a pair of sheds around, I wouldn't alter the height at all. I much prefer looking into, rather than down on to, layouts. This also massively helps hide the visual compromises of 00. So much so that we were asked multiple times if the layout was EM. The visual appearance and impact would IMO be much reduced if it were lowered. From a personal point of view though, whilst standing results in sore feet, the layout height meant we were not stooping, or looking down all the time. Having operated lower layouts, I can attest to the neck and back pains that result from constantly having a bent back and neck. Yes, there will be folk who for whom the layout is too tall but there will never be a height that suits everyone.

Ah that was day 1, and me blending in, quietly minding my own business. On day 2 we managed to find a chair for the naughty corner. Space for said chair behind the layout was made by moving the layout forwards a little and left a tad. An added benefit of this move was that it removed the interference fit between rucksack wearers and the fiddle yard...
