We used to finish at 4pm on Sunday at the Mansfield Show and as you say, the last hour was basically just exhibitors and traders walking round. We have now changed to 3pm which works well for all concerned. We remain open until 5pm on the Saturday mind.
My O gauge Pug is now HM7000 sound equipped and can be seen in action on Fourgig East this weekend. I will also be testing a pre-production Legacy Dongle connected to a Select controller to see how this performs in a live environment too.
Question is can I control my locos with a smartphone 🤣
Powercab will be on hand if not ......
Latest list of sounds available etc, note all that have been changed to rev 2 and the notes at the bottom explaining the changes. I'd recommend all update their locos to get the benefits 😉
I can do some nice vac pipes, my own 3d design, originally intended for G scale , but scale down quite well, these are actually OO gauge….
here’s a grab of the 3d design
A good approach if you want to hear the sounds before committing - it will be easy to get a TXS decoder later and load the sounds yourself. If you don't like them, use the decoder in another loco and load a different profile via the app 😉
The Turbomotive sound scheme is not completed yet, so how could they in all seriousness release a sound demo - there would be inevitable complaints that it was not complete etc etc etc. It is close though - patience is a virtue so they say
Back in the early days of Summat Colliery I set it up on the Friday evening at a local show only to find that my DCC controller - a Bachmann Dynamis would not connect. The handset flat refused to see the base station no matter what I tried. There was something in the room that was swamping the IR. Luckily my operator for the weekend brought his Powercab in on the Saturday morning. I bought one myself the following week and sold the Dynamis.
Thankfully it was a local show and I'd decided to set up Friday evening to have a bit more of a lie-in on Saturday morning. If I'd turned up on Saturday morning to set up I would have been stuffed.
I'm back there next month with my O gauge layout Fourgig East - still with the Powercab 😉
I seem to have caught my son’s passion for watches, especially since I inherited my dad’s 1973 Longines. I find myself lusting after £2500 new versions….
