  1. Is anyone else having problems with the image to 3D site? seems to error after uploading the image.
  2. if only I had a layout big enough 🤣
  3. Postie arrived today, pair of TRBS accidentally (?) ordered from eBay for just over 60 quid. one thing that struck me after taking my 80’s power car out yesterday for more pan photos, was how I dislike the new Hornby “egg box” packaging. The old polystyrene tray just seems to present the product better to my eyes. the outer card is, however, much more robust, which is good 😁
  4. No wonder Riccardo is grinning 😄
  5. I can only comment for my last employer, but if someone had an enhanced check from previous employment and had their check references etc we would just add them to our list of checked staff etc.
  6. my problem will be working out a suitable move on Summat Colliery for them, might have to be one or two at a time, that kickback siding next to the coal stage may have to be finally added ........
  7. Thanks Fran, my 37 is on hold waiting for the speakers :)
  8. Think Tony said he's tried this too, might be wrong though ....
  9. Yes, so one wire from the decoder to one terminal on the cube, other cube terminal to the em1. Other decoder wire to the remaining terminal on the em1
  10. Just had it confirmed that over 8 ohms is fine, just don't go lower. an EM1 in series with an 8 ohm sugar cube as per Accurascale etc will be fine 😁
  11. you have spare em1's???? if you wired two 8 ohm sugar cubes in parallel, that will make a combination that is 4 ohms. Wire this pair in series with the EM1 and you have 8 ohms. Not sure though if the HM7000 would be ok with an 8 ohm cube in series, making 12 ohms. I will inquire....
  12. Might just have to get a friend for this on Summat Colliery 😉
  13. Maybe I just need to get my powercab/procab combination fixed......
  14. I can do the tablet/smartphone thing via the Hornby Legacy Dongle. I'm just not convinced I can safely operate my layouts at an exhibition without a handy thumbwheel
  15. Yep, they have a good price on the Z21, but not stock of the handset
  16. Thinking about jumping and getting a Z21, but am not at all convinced of a smartphone as a controller in an exhibition environment. What wired handsets are everyone using - what is actually available and what is the functionality like? I'd love to keep my NCE powercab/power pro handsets, but I guess that's not an option
  17. I had the pleasure a couple of weeks ago to dcc sound fit a good customer's Evening Star. Enclosure for a sugar cube was welcome, but of course I had to find wires from the pcb to the speaker. Thankfully there were solder pads, if not very well labelled. Please Hornby follow emerging manufacturers and fit the cube ready if you are putting a 21 pin socket in. Lovely loco, you do have to get up close to see the mould lines on the boiler. At normal viewing distances they are not noticeable. Would love one, but can't really justify another 9F.......
  18. Got the chance to test my 7 car set last night. All good apart from the DEV coach would derail one bogie when entering a 2nd rad curve, just one wheelset and it popped back on as soon as the set straightened up. Looks like the bogie in question is tight in it's mountings and can't swing well enough. The wiring to the pickups might be too tight. No biggie as I'll look into it when I strip the coach to measure up the internals for a 3D printing project. The lighting on a couple of cars was a bit flickery at first, but improved with running.
