    bought a Hornby king, took body off to hard wire a chip and it was dcc ready even though the box didnt state it! result

      I had the same thing with the 8F and Black 5s - quite a nice surprise to see an 8 pin plug in there even though the models are +10 years old and not advertised as DCC ready.

      Sadly won't happen. Both of these locos were a gift to their respective countries and as such we cannot dictate what will happen to them. I am certain both will return to their homes in 2014 and take pride of place looking in far better condition then when they left them.

    ha, these are most likely from a signalling training school, or made for that purpose. we use them at work on signaller assements. they are Hornby cataluge images, they are magnetic and stick to the white board!!!

    this coach was released by Hornby like this, from 'the great discovery' set. thomas had a different face for that set too!!! looks like its been given the flicking toothbrush method of weathering!
