    Arrived about 2.15 this afternoon at 53A Models in Hull.......in addition to Confused.Com's comments, its got 2mm driving axles.....hope Colin of Alan Gibson is reading!!

    About the only option really, as there are no wheels available to my knowledge that match Oxfords axle diameters for a simple re wheel. Driving axles are 2mm dia and bogie/trailing are 1.5mm dia.

    Crosshead and slidebars differ too......single or double slidebars!

    I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was originally built as a plain wall with the usual windows. Later, waiting rooms etc were added and the arches created from the window openings to provide access to these and to create a wider platform. Would have been a fairly narrow platform before those alterations. Maybe someone can confirm?

    Think the picture is taken at North Road Museum in Darlington. Not sure if the original York Museum building still stands.....more knowledgeable than me will know!

    Hope you find the sheet useful. As you say, in the latest Hornby Mag, Tim Shackleton details the Crosti, including fitting brakes. Might be worth a look for anyone thinking about it. Pete Hill

    Has it come to that? Being "twitchy" about publishing articles that need the use of a saw and a soldering iron? I know these things are no longer taught in schools, but words fail me!! Pete

    Can't say I'm impressed by that MRJ article.....the thing looks far too large and cumbersome. With such large overhangs, would have thought there was a great danger in bending the wheel mouldings out of true. Personally use the good old GW Models press......even then some fiddling by eye sometimes needed!

    So have I, yet he found me in the depths of flickr taken around 1971.....I didn't even know I was there. So don't think you are safe...... Nice looking chassis build too Dave.

    I certainly remember Class 14's regularly working past Hull Grammar School, (which was situated between Cottingham station and Cottingham South box,) usually double headed, hauling trains of lifted track panels circa 1966/7 ish, presumably from the closed Beverley-York line.

    They are still around, shown as being Stand D55 at Warley this year.

    Comet also do a nice little etch of BR standard loco steps......just the job for the front end.

    I didn't disagree....I simply said that if you had a section called Service Sheets, wouldn't you expect to find them there as well?........and it's only any use having them linked to the specific model page whilst that model is current.

    Possibly, but if you have a specific part of your website headed "Service sheets", wouldn't you expect to find them there too?
