  1. Thinking about this a bit more, could the transport difficulties of yesterday (and maybe today as well) have limited the numbers of younger visitors? While I'm here thanks to all those posting photos and keeping us stuck at home informed, keep it up.
  2. You wouldn't know that from the photos posted so far. They must be keeping a low profile.
  3. Is someone going to try and finish it by Sunday night?
  4. You missed this one Jol : ROD 2-8-0 Not much use for passengers though.
  5. Isn't that what RMweb classifieds is for?
  6. In the 1970s we had generic bogie coaches from Tri-ang/Hornby and Farish, now we have loads of accurate models of many types. Maybe in 40 years we'll have accurate models of 4 and 6 wheel coaches of all the pre-grouping companies. Until then these generic models will have to do. The alternative is either nothing, build kits or scratchbuild. For many the appeal of these models is the finish rather than their shape, not many modellers can match that on these models.
  7. Moot maybe, but for £85 you could buy 6 Slaters kits plus wheels plus some paint and glue.
  8. All the Hornby TT stuff seen so far has much larger flanges, relatively speaking. The flange may be the same size as OO, but as the model is smaller it looks larger.
  9. If you are referring to the photo on P.32 then compare the flanges on the driving wheels with those on the A1 on P.11, far too fine for (RTR) TT.
  10. Download the free catalogue from Hornby here , it contains the answer.
  11. Yep it's doable, these buffers came from Wizard Models. A bit of Phosphor Bronze wire acts as a spring.
  12. If it's mentioned on the cover you might find it here , quite a lot to go through though.
  13. Just discovered this series being shown overnight on the That's TV channel (Freeview ch.65). Not much information online apart from this list at RadioTimes . Looks interesting, I just need to find the time to actually watch it.
  14. Looks like Hatton's are having another Trunk clear-out ahead of the xmas period. Auto-despatching will start from 8th November.
  15. Not according to what was written earlier, many pages ago.
  16. I see your point, but Railtech products are made to order so selling through shops wouldn't work. Another problem for small suppliers is VAT. They are usually too small to have to charge it, but any shop selling their stuff would have to, thus pushing up the price. With fewer small suppliers around model shops become more dependent on the big ones....
  17. Perhaps we need a new sub-forum to fill up with froth until some actual products arrive.
  18. I thought that was the scale?
  19. Some sound fitted N gauge locos (clicky link)
  20. If Hornby are going to concentrate on larger mainline locos that leaves room in the market for others to make the smaller locos and stock. Where some see a problem others will see an opportunity.
  21. Something for Hornby to consider in their upcoming marketing campaign.
  22. No SR listed in the catalogue, even in phases 3,4 and beyond.
