  1. Not sure about the splashers. In some photos they look lined, but I cant tell if it's actual lining or polished metal that is showing. They aren't lined in the official works (grey) photo.
  2. Lining, those long tanks need lots of lining. This was all done with bits from a HMRS press-fix sheet. I thought I'd got away with not having to do the cab front and rear, but closer examination of a photo revealed the presence of the lining, so more to do. At least I didn't have to do the steps or valance. With more lining plus numbers: Just the MR on the buffer beams to do, plus lots of other details.....
  3. Some brass tube, inside diam. 2.0mm , outside diam. 3.0mm or as close as you can get should do the job. Plenty of suppliers on ebay if you cant find any.
  4. Thanks Chas, as it happens I've recently done something similar with some old Airfix kits. Now you've disturbed my slumber I suppose I should post some sort of update. Not that much has been happening here for a while, too many other distractions. But I can report some progress with the Flatiron, I was able to get it sprayed Crimson red last year. I shall try to progress this further as time allows.
  5. That would be Q1 this year. I thought they were already here in UK, it's the app. development that's holding things up.
  6. Something to bare in mind, according to the recent survey on here most members attend no more than 2 shows a year. Survey results here:
  7. I've looked at several recent posts about shows, most are rather lacking the information the OP is seeking. Could do much better.
  8. There was one on the last page:
  9. I think some people are missing the point of the OP, he wants to see a more informed list of layouts before going to the show. Detailed descriptions in the show guide are of no use, unless it is available well before the show date. Which is very rare.
  10. Lendons of Cardiff is the place to go for service sheets, here is a direct link to sheet no.83: https://www.lendonsmodelshop.co.uk/pdf/Hornby Service Sheets/No.083 0-4-4 and 4-4-0 Loco Chassis.pdf
  11. My two ran perfectly straight out of the box, smooth and slow.
  12. What you've found there is the original listing for this model under the Realtrack name: https://www.hattons.co.uk/directory/versiondetails/5812/realtrack_oo_class_143_pacer If you scroll down to the "Products from this Tooling" section you will see the EFE Rail models listed, such as this: https://www.hattons.co.uk/1148296/efe_rail_e83024_class_143_pacer_2_car_dmu_143608_in_arriva_trains_wales_revised_teal_weathered/stockdetail This is all in the Hatton's directory, you wont find any in the actual shop as they don't stock new EFE Rail products.
  13. It's repeated again Sunday at 10pm.
  14. Perhaps we need another pole, about the size of layouts people build. Or the space available for them?
  15. Interesting, as my digital copy only goes up to page 68 !
  16. I got the impression from one of the vids that it is something they are still working on.
  17. A lot of images on this forum have disappeared, as noted here: I note Colin hasn't been on for nearly a month, hope all is ok.
  18. I doubt it matters, how many of those will ever run on a layout? There are plenty of Bachmann ones around if it is a problem.
  19. Just watched the HM video, not having much experience with blue tooth I have a question. What is it's security like, and does this system have any? I don't particularly want my neighbour to be able to play with my trains.
  20. Sounds like this is still a work in progress!
  21. The question seems to be - do you want Team Chivers to expend their valuable time duplicating an existing kit , even if the result would be superior , or direct their efforts at something that isn't already available?
  22. The stuff announced so far is labelled as "phase 1", so that could come later.
  23. That would be a premium sound file you'll have to pay for, lots.
