    Hornby B1

I think the Hornby one will win for me for one major benefit - the locating of the chip in the tender. I will be putting sound into mine and experience tells me the best space for the speaker is the tender so it will be easier for me if the socket is there so Hornby will be getting my vote for the B1's .
  2. To all those at Warley any news or announcements?? There is nothing online at all :(

I can only announced the information provided by manufacturers. For anything else that's appeared at the show I guess you'll just have to wait until anyone attending is back online; they're probably otherwise busy at the moment.

I know Andy... just frustrating for those that can't get to Warley! Happens every year though...

  3. And the Lord God said "let there be light" and thus the land of Weeklyn Hill was bathed in the light of fluorescent strips in theyne Diesel Shed and yard lights onto the outside world. The steam workers saw this and this was not good for them so thy Lord God offerened them lights for their shed and this was good.

  4. Photos are now up on Hattons site, tis an impressive model just not my period of intrest so I will not be partaking in one but it is good to see Bachmann catering for more era's and locations. I am sure those of you who get one will not be dissapointed!
  5. My Dad is in Harrogate today and he has just sent me a text to say Starbeck models has got the EX-LNER versions in stock. Looks like they are here folks!
  6. My 2 came back yesterday, D5512 is now D5511 (I wonder if they did this one only to supply the replacement bodies) and 31270 is now 31268. From what I can see they have merely taken the parts off each and moved them to a new chassis block as one has no fan (which I took out to fit a sound chip), lets just hope this is the end of the problem.
  7. SWMBO is at work so I am having an evening fitting Kadee couplings to Hornby Mineral Wagon's.

  8. Just had an email to say my green and blue versions are on their way back to me. I will be glad to get them both back out and running again.
  9. I may have to give in to one of these now as I saw last night D5705 once ran to Leeds, if Savoyard would make his sound chip available to the likes of me that would clinch it .
  10. Well I am going to be posting off 2 31's tonight - both mine suffered badly. Finger crossed for 2 new one's soon.
  11. I suddenly looked at this discussion last night and straight after reading it dashe up stairs to check my 31270 which has 2 small cracks on the cab side and 2 of the cab doors won't close - I daren't take the top off to see but it will be on its way back to Hornby. I also have the green one from the first batch (D5512) no signs of crackin on that yet but I will be taking the top off to check that tonight.
  12. Why did it start to rain this morning when I was packing the car up ready to set up at the Tanfield gala tonight?

  13. really needs to start cleaning wheels for the locos going to Tanfield show this weekend.

  14. Very easy, ample room in the tender for decoder and speaker. No need to cut or file anything.

  16. Excellent news that someone will tackle this model but I do suspect the price will go up as they are listing them all at £199 no matter if they are clean or heavily weathered. I would be interested to see if the revolving coal bunker versions will actually rotate. Anyone know if these ran into Leeds?
  17. Got to be for the price they are at.
  18. Too nice a day to sit indoors, think I will take the dog to the NYMR for a walk.

  19. too wet to walk the dog today so looks like it will have to be a day on the model railway instead.

      Killybegs

Presumably the dog will have to keep its legs crossed!

  20. 2nd heads up. My LNER Sentinel has been packed for despatch. Will report when I receive it (possibly with pics)
  21. Heads up for those who don't know - the Sentinel is reviewed in this months Hornby Magazine and gets a damn good write up too.
  22. Leeds Weekyln Hill website is starting to get some web traffic now, wonder if any of these people are exhibition managers?

  23. Crewe a trainspotters dream. In 1841 it was one farmhouse, since then Crewe has built ,000's of locomotives and mile's of rolling stock and in common with other great railway such as Darlington and Doncaster, runs a football team which is almost permanantly bottom of the 4th division!

wow! I may have to acquire a copy! Does it have the beatles version of 'and I love her' over the rainhill section? I saw it on the internet a while ago and it was a different version of the song, and it just sounded odd!
