  1. Bachmann Collectors Club mag says the 85 has now been approved and has entered the production stage, not too long now folks.
  2. Wonder how many coal and water stops it took for the engine to get from Leeds to Nuernberg Winkelhof?
  3. if you can get down to the NRM in the next week or so and are into weathering then Olton Hall is parked up after a week of shutte work, she has not been cleaned and you can get up close to her and get oads of reference shots and ruin other people's who want their pic taken with the engine ;)

  4. That really looks excellent, I may have to try this method to get the model of Sir Nigel Gresley as she was in the 80's I want.
  5. It did say in last years catalogue that it was a new body - the photos are merely painted samples of the old body for the catalogue, so yes it will be new chassis and body.
  6. Just read the article in Model Rail on the A4's last trains in Scotland. New Exhibition layout idea growing, A4's, shortish trains and great scenery!

  7. Finished writing the movement sequence for this weekends show - 195 movements which is our biggest (and hopefully best) ever! Took me 4 days to write it.

      endeavour above and beyond!!

  8. I would like to second lmsforever's comments, I am looking forward to seeing this layout at exhibitions even if it will be mine to shame. Keep up the excellent work Mike.
  9. I think Bachmann did announce the 2EPB before the 4-CEP hit the shops so assuming they did, they must have known pre-orders were high to do another unit. I don't know how many people have pre-ordered an 85 but they may announce a 2nd electric this year based on the same logic.
  10. Just been watching Right Track DVD 11 Weathering Techniques - Can I really bring myself to weather my Deltic like Tim Shackleton did?

try something you aren't too concerned about first in case it goes wrong - thats why I use ink instead of paint as it washes off

I was thinking more along the lines of ever, I have done a few wagons and they look ok but my airbrush is an old £10 Revell type which I need to upgrade before I even think about tackling a loco.

  11. No delivery date or pre-producion shots yet - the last Bachmann Collectors Club magazine says the CAD Drawings are now complete and has now progressed to the tool room so we may see something in a few months time. Keep checking the Bachmann website for either delivery date or tooling pics.
  12. In other words folks, buy more then one 85!
  13. That is a fantastic model, I was in Liverpool at the start of December and stayed next to Lime Street Station and even though the model is set 65 years ago I can clearly recognise what it is supposed to be, top notch modelling guys.

    Dapol 'Western'

If you do any sound fitted I will most certainly buy one of them - I will probably buy one anyway but you get the idea.
  15. Happy new year everyone. I have no idea what year this is Chinese wise but personaly it is the year of weathering - let the fun and games of me weilding an airbrush begin!

      Dart Castings, code W1, price £1.60, 4mm scale. Non-operating.

Here beginneth the discussion regarding the prototype colour of dragons.

    4. Coombe Barton

      Coombe Barton

And whether the Dart Castings model is to true scale.

  16. Thanks Jim for posting that on Bryan's behalf, may have to get myself one for one of my models (no;54 sounding into Leeds Weeklyn Hill at Leeds Middleton Railway in July )
  17. Out of curiosity what would Howes policy be on this? If I bought the semi generic and then they did a "Pukker" Version would I have to pay for a reblow as I was aware of the newer version or would they reblow it for free? I can see it been a catch 22 situation where people will wait for the pukker version but it will not come cause the semi generic will not sell enough.

    Hornby B1

Gordon, how do the nameplates fix on? I cannot see any holes in the smokebox so I am guessing they must glue into place. If so that would make renumbering easier for those of us who want different later crest - I would prefer a nice Antelope type name as opposed to a person.
  19. So can we expect a Sentinel sound file set soon? Fingers crossed as I would love to put one in No;54
  20. Birthday in 2 days, will I get anything for the model railway I wonder?

  21. Mine has also arrived, what a little beauty she is - my 3rd Sentinel and looking forward to running her.
  22. As no-one else has posted this I will do the honours. I had an email yesterday from Kernow to sat Dept. 54 has been picked for despatch in their mail room so those of you who have ordered this one should soon be getting theirs. Looking forward to recreating her infamous assault on the 1-in-49 on the NYMR with a single mark 1.

    Hornby B1

I think the Hornby one will win for me for one major benefit - the locating of the chip in the tender. I will be putting sound into mine and experience tells me the best space for the speaker is the tender so it will be easier for me if the socket is there so Hornby will be getting my vote for the B1's .
  24. To all those at Warley any news or announcements?? There is nothing online at all :(

Where's all the other announcements though?

    3. Andy Y

      Andy Y

I can only announced the information provided by manufacturers. For anything else that's appeared at the show I guess you'll just have to wait until anyone attending is back online; they're probably otherwise busy at the moment.

I know Andy... just frustrating for those that can't get to Warley! Happens every year though...

  25. And the Lord God said "let there be light" and thus the land of Weeklyn Hill was bathed in the light of fluorescent strips in theyne Diesel Shed and yard lights onto the outside world. The steam workers saw this and this was not good for them so thy Lord God offerened them lights for their shed and this was good.
