Due to this thread: I've extracted DM4MS from the loft and transported it to the Workshop. Therefore, I've taken some pics. -
I've finally dragged my 009/00 layout from the loft and taken a few photos. 1. The Baldwin arrives at the transfer dock with the transporter wagon. 2. The Sentinel pushes the standard gauge wagon to the edge... 3. ...and on to the NG wagon. 4. The Sentinel uncouples and moves away. 5. The Baldwin takes the transporter wagon and load off to somewhere on the munitions base. And a couple of videos here :

Congratulations on reaching this point in the layout build, it must be be satisfying to see everything turnout as planned. Also congratulations to young Daisy, who shares her birthday with our son Chris (29). We're off to the South Devon Railway for the day. -
Congratulations to Steve Knight for absolutely smashing the league this year. It all starts again on Sat 12 August...

Scale Model Scenery.co.uk have recently launched a new, expanding, range of un-wrapped kits. These are designed to allow you to add an individual finish to the buildings, using either paper, embossed plasticard, or simply paint. The kits are either low-relief, or full-bodied, and are supplied with all the necessary details including doors and frames, windows and frames, relief brickwork, downspouts, and either a solid roof or trusses. This enables you to finish the building as you require, but still benefit from the accurate, laser cut mdf kit parts that Scale Model Scenery has become renowned for . These low-relief or full bodied kits are based on real prototypes, which can be found in many locations throughout the UK. Initially, the kits are only available in single Scales, but the intention is for the range to include 2mm, TT-120 and 4mm scales, with the option of 7mm or other scales as requested. I had a birthday too, only last year... -
I can't believe how irresponsible this whole idea is, despite the intended purpose. https://www.forces.net/military-life/fun/watch-us-marine-gunner-attempts-cook-bacon-rifle?utm_source=Forces+Newsletter&utm_campaign=f9212014a1-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_05_19_04_54&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-f9212014a1-[LIST_EMAIL_ID]

Just flagging up this relatively new manufacturer of ballasts, powders and grass/flower tufts. They were at the recent Hayle Exhibition, and their products are amazing. https://www.rivalcrafts.co.uk/

"Airplane" was based on "Flight into Danger", by John Castle and Arthur Hailey ( of "Airport" fame). A lot of the film dialogue is lifted directly from the book, especially "handles like a wet sponge".

I thought that was to get the bus back on time, timetable-wise. Nothing worse than walking to / arriving at a bus stop, at the expected time, than to see it disappearing in the distance because it was early... (Sorry, have been using buses for some months now, and have my own soapbox to rant from...)
