  1. Best of luck with this Jay, as many have said the SWAG Day is one of the best and I hope you can generate the same level of interest and enjoyment up north.
  2. Just don't eat sarnies with Philly cheese, when also using pva...
  3. It's also No 1 grandson's 2nd birthday, and the weather forecast is thundery showers, but there maybe a trip to Lappa Valley.
  4. Looking superb already, will be brilliant when you get some grass and shrubbery on there.
  5. We have two Thrones of Deliberation, but neither is suitable for any Desk of Doing.
  6. You're getting far too excited, far too early...
  7. I thought a quarterlight was the small triangular opening window, found on the leading edge of the front doors on 1950s/60s BMC cars, such as this Morris Minor.
  8. But what about trains/locos arriving at Newquay direct from Paddington? However, no evidence is no evidence, so you are probably correct in not requiring extensive loco facilities.
  9. Another wonderful Member's Day has been enjoyed. Thanks to Rob & the whole team behind organising and running the event, as ever it was a pleasure and a privilege to be a part. Thanks also to everyone who stopped by my little corner of the hall to chat about my layout, the Scale Model Scenery products on display, or my own offerings of model buildings. Feedback on product ideas (and the very nice comments about the kits) is being passed back to Justin at SMS, and we will try to incorporate as many as possible. If you have any further thoughts, or wish to confirm specific requirements, please do get in touch, either via myself, or direct to SMS.
  10. Car is packed, mostly, just the trestles, cake and diorama to load, once it's stopped raining.
  11. Will be off to the workshop later, to finish a few bits off, then load the car. Cake has been purchased ( no surprises on what sort).
  12. Another potential issue will be the very high centre of gravity when the motorised van is on the 009 transporter wagon. I also had to fit a beam to the standard gauge loading bank to support the end of the transporter wagon, beyond the 009 axle.
  13. Methinks the advert text has not all been changed from the draft version
  14. Along with many others, ChrisF will be missed.
  15. I would hope the word you intended to use was 'better'... 😁
