  1. Would the velocipede be motorised, and would it be DCC compatible? Stu
  2. I was just wondering if this section can include real locations which didn't have a railway, but could have done? E.g. Ullapool, which was planned but never built etc Stu
  3. That backscene is very good! Really sets off the layout well. Stu
  4. It'll probably have to be HO scale then - seems to be a hole in the market at present. Which means that there is this: http://www.gaugemaster.com/item_details.asp?code=VN1133 Maybe a little on the expensive side though. Stu
  5. Langley do a kit: http://www.langley-models.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_OO_Vehicle_kits_G145__onward_includes_Farm_Machines__27.html Item no G166. Not sure if it fits your period? Stu
  6. Perhaps taking a line which is currently single track and creating excuses to increase the traffic (examples being reinstating lineside industries that once had a rail connection, or putting a connection into to ones that had none) - you can use the excuse that the line is being reviewed for doubling/redoubling hence it is busy but isn't (yet double track). Stu
  7. Even stranger that they haven't been scrapped then. Stu
  8. I was just wondering what workings might normally produce class 92s (apart from sleepers) - are there any diagrams which are pretty much "nailed on" for a 92? Do they ever work away from the WCML/3rd rail network? Stu
  9. Strange that so few of the 58s have actually been scrapped, considering how long they have been out of service. Stu
  10. ISTR that the branch is covered in the Irwell Press book "An Illustrated History of Edinburgh's Railways", by Smith and Anderson. Stu
  11. Does anybody know what LNER trains are still diagrammed for HSTs, and when these are likely to disappear? I was hoping to see a few in the Doncaster/Leeds/York area during the next month or so, or will I be too late? Stu
  12. It actually looks East Anglian even at this stage! Stu
  13. Am I right to assume that all passengers trains running from Sheffield northwards use the Holmes Chord to access Rotherham Central, rather than taking the line past the site of Masborough station, and then use the line through Swinton rather than that though Kilnhurst to get Mexborough? Stu
  14. For a small project I am tying to find a suitable paint. What I am looking for is a pale blue, ideally in aerosol format and preferably satin or matt finish. In RGB terms the shade is around 174,220,249. Can anybody help? I would prefer something off the shelf than getting a bespoke mix as it's only for a very small project and I want to keep the cost down. Stu
  15. No DCC isn't backward, it's just not forward. Still lots of non-DCC modellers on here. Stu
  16. I notice that there are a few of these on Ebay that (inevitably) have rather inflated prices at the moment, so I suppose it depends on how much you want to pay, but a few have sold recently for a fairly normal price. Stu
  17. The Ratio accommodation crossing gates are (possibly) more typical of NG than the mainline type. Stu
  18. Many websites suggest it is owned by Telford Steam Railway, but at present it's parked at the port of Felixstowe, so has it been sold to a spit hire company or is it on hire? Stu
  19. The Skytrex kilns look quite good now that they're painted. Stu
  20. I have a few bits of TT gauge stock which I got for a layout that I haven't built. I would like to build a micro in TT scale so I need a small loco, ideally an 0-4-0 tank loco or 4w diesel. Is there anything available that could be easily converted to something British style? I don't really want to build a kit as the idea is to keep it cheap. Stu
