  1. What are the notes above the stave on the first pic?
  2. A Russian spy was sent to check how strong the Swedish military was. He found the airforce and army to be very good, but he scanned de Navy an it wasn't a threat. Stu
  3. I don't buy Velcro any more - it's a rip-off. Stu
  4. I just watched a film about people who hate mathematics. It was called 'The Fear of All Sums'. Stu
  5. Are wire coil loads like this - https://www.goodwoodscenics.co.uk/product-page/bulkscene-4mm-strapped-wire-coils-steel-grey-pack-of-10 only a relatively recent sight in open wagons? I can't recall seeing them much before the 1980s. Were they carried in e.g. wooden opens in British railways (or even before) days? Or maybe they were carried but sheeted over? Stu
  6. The bulk of these are still available. To cover postage, rates are 1 copy £1.00, 2 to 5 copies £2.00 (total, not each!). Can post elsewhere at cost. Stu
  7. Apart from the Langley one (F104) , are there any models of light workshop type gantries available (HO scale at a pinch)? Stu
  8. This is cool. I'm sure it'll get a ripple of applause. It's the wafer things to go. But let's not milk it too much. Stu
  9. I was aware that a boatyard in Victoria, BC, Canada had one of these, but is this the only example of a boat turntable in the UK? https://en-gb.facebook.com/Birdham.Pool.Marina/videos/1412346292322346/ Stu
  10. Sorry only just seen this. I have quite a few copies from oct 2016. I'll check later on my list and let you know what I have. Stu
  11. I have a large number of issues of the 009 News that I wish to get rid of. These will hopefully be listed in the "News" at some point, but this looks to be some time off and they are getting in the way. They are from 1986 to 2019, most issues but not all. Postage costs only. Stu
  12. Not sure if there is any track left beyond normal public limits - Cliff quay has been developed quite extensively over the last few years but there might still be some on the "island" in the middle of the old docks. Stu
  13. I am looking for around 40 axles - ideally all the same size wheels. If curly spoked (in the 009) case then even better. Stu
  14. The brick effect on the engine shed is excellent! Stu
  15. For anybody who was wondering, the vessel shown on the right of these pics is a recreation of Noah's Ark - see https://arkmuseum.eu/, which has stayed at Ipswich due to the virus. Stu
  16. This is the only regular commercial use of the wet dock now. Stu
  17. David Kindred has a lot of photos that you might find useful: See https://www.flickr.com/photos/kindredspirituk/albums/72157635610244053 Stu
  18. If any watched the Pembrokeshire Murders - there were some scenes shot at what I guess was meant to be an archive store. This was in a cutting with what looked like rails in it. I have a feeling that I've seen it somewhere before - does anybody know where it is? Stu
  19. Have a look too at https://www.emgauge70s.co.uk/layout_canada.html which was inspired by parts of Ipswich Docks Stu
