  1. I saw 4O23 this morning as I was prepping a unit in Coventry station a friendly wave from your relief was much appreciated. Great pic Jim. Cheers Colin
  2. This great news Andy as you say a truly remarkable effort in such little time this has been running. I've contributed also that famous saying from a well known shop = Every little helps Cheers Colin
  3. I did a New St - Redditch and a New St - Wolverhampton shuttle yesterday and it's the most odd feeling walking across the main concourse at New St with not a soul around. It's very surreal running around almost empty ferrying the key workers to and from work. Jim just a quick one how much PPE have you been provided with such as gloves, sanitizer etc.... As we've been given nothing at all apart from cabs being sanitised overnight and if your lucky a squirt of hand sanitizer when we book on duty, staysafe Jim. Cheers Colin
  4. I've set the virgin TiVo box to record these I may see myself driving in or around New St.
  5. Well I've resisted until now as it's a subject very close to home as I knew the driver who sadly lost his life at Tyseley depot I know what happened and how it happened. Although some of the comments I've read have made me angry as they have been way out order. I'm not going to comment any further regarding the incident I hope the admin staff lock this off very soon as some people are living in cloud cuckoo land.
  6. How have I missed this thread this is right up my street I love the BR blue drabness it reminds me of my youth so much. I shall be following with great interest as this develops. Cheers Colin
  7. I'm liking the look of this I shall be following with great interest. I'm also ex Royal Corps of Signals of 12years but only as a reservist so I may also have to purchase a model of 66756. Sorry to hear of your depression, model railways can be a great healer. Keep up the great work Cirta Cito Cheers Colin
  8. So that was you I passed near Hampton in Arden. Great pics Jim Cheers Colin
  9. Great pics as ever Jim, class 92's ooh sleeper work then or passenger/charter jobs. Cheers Colin
  10. That is really looking good, http://www.2d53.co.uk/blaenauffestiniog/menu.htm Not sure if your aware of this site I follow it for the inspiration as it has some fantastic pictures of Maentrwog Road and Trawsfynydd. Cheers Colin
  11. That was a fantastic day I really enjoyed operating Ashbridge. Looking at those pics I've got the drivers belly just do something about that.... Hoping to spend more time operating Ashbridge for you Mark. Cheers Colin
  12. Stunning pictures especially the one of the footbridge I've walked across it's a bit of an odd feeling as you walk over hearing the the creeks and groans from the metal work. Cheers Colin
  13. This layout looks absolutely stunning I would love to see it in the flesh one as I've just spent a week in Trawsfynydd with family staying in the old bank in the village. I was tempted to do a similar model of Maentwrog Road but it would never be upto this level so I'll have to stick to being a follower. Cheers Colin
  14. I'm not sure if this has been asked previously but is there a DVD with the magazine as I was having a quick browse in Whsmith's in Northampton station yesterday and there was no DVD's attached to the front of the magazine. Other than that this looks to be a decent edition of BRM. Cheers Colin
  15. I've taken the plunge and bought a 121 in blue & grey and also ordered some round buffers from DCC supplies.
  16. Hmmm I've got a 122 that doesn't really fit in within my era I'm after a blue and grey 121 though. Doh!! I missed out on the Hattons blue and grey bargain 121's by an hour or so
  17. Well with winter well and truly here it's back into the spare room with the layout I've been concentrating on detailing stock for the layout I'm in two minds regarding the coupling of the stock. As the layout maybe exhibited someday hopefully I would like to use scale screwlink/instanter couplings but they can be a pain then there is the option of the standard tension lock couplings but I'm trying to get away from the toy look on the layout. What does everyone else think as I'm in a bit of a dilemma?
  18. I followed you all the way from Stechford to Rugby I thought it was you when it was heading back North from platform 6. It was a tad slippy when I was right behind you as my sanders and WSP light was on most of the time. Cheers Colin
  19. Do you fancy making another one purely for display as that is simply stunning. Cheers Colin
  20. As it's been an age since any kind of update here's a couple of pics to show what's been done. Firstly a Heljan class 33 now complete apart from painting the pipework on the bufferbeam. This loco has had the full works done to it repaint, weathered and laserglaze added both bufferbeams detailed. And loksound V4 decoder with legomanbiffo sounds added. The second pic showing the slow progress on the signal box. Cheers Colin
  21. I would like to thank everyone for there suggestions on curing the erratic running but I've tried everything now and ive now dumped the loco back in its box and into storage as it was becoming very close to sending it to the modelling equivalent of M.C. Metals. Cheers Colin
  22. Now the two wires from the motor to the circuit board they appear to have a suppressor each would it be worth it removing them and see what happens ?
  23. Many thanks for all of the helpful replies I'm unable to test on DC as I've no longer got a DC controller. I've tried removing the pins from the Jack shafts and the problem still happens.
  24. I'm really looking forward to seeing this 323 unit. I wish I had the skill and patience to do what you've done as the 323 units are my favourite the first type of unit I've driven on the mainline. If you need any photos of the underframe I can do that no problem at all as we have two units that stable in Coventry North Yard every night. And I prep them for service most mornings. Keep up the great work. Cheers Colin
  25. Hi all I've had a Bachmann 03 for a while now which runs very erratically sometimes it'll travel a few feet at very slow speed then it'll stop and after a second or two it'll move off again and do the same and then sometimes It'll move a quarter turn of the wheels and stop and it will constantly keep doing this. I've checked all the wiper pickups they are constantly in contact with the backs of the wheels. The wheel sets are cleanas are the pickups. This is only when I run it on DCC I've tried a Gaugemaster omni decoder and a hattons decoder both with same results as mentioned above. Does anybody have any ideas what I could do to solve this.
