  1. Getting close now, painted, lettered and weathered. The roof is not fixed, it needs glazing first, the stove will be fixed when the roof is put on as well. Painted and lettered (no wheels). And weathered.
  2. Thanks for the comments Guys (it's aliiiiive!), hope to continue with painting tonight. Yes Jonathan I did see it, spotted a few more RMweber's too!
  3. Lamp brackets, buffers and steps now fitted and a coat of grey primer, I've made a stove from a bit of sprue and brass tube. I've since given it a coat of red oxide (Railmatch) and discovered another Vallejo match, Game Colour, Dark Fleshtone makes a good LNER red oxide. The next coat will be this.
  4. He did have an assistant, she was far more glamorous than Gringo or Spams...
  5. NER Diagram V1/3 brake van. This van is mostly built from the Slaters kit but it has been modified to represent one of the vans fitted with side cotes (duckets), along with these it has had windows fitted at this end although these are slightly smaller than the usual ones in the other end. It is modelled with a door open from a photo in Ian Sadler's NER brake van book of one of these at Rosedale west. All but one of the handrails are fitted, the exception being one from the other end to the roof that can only be fitted when the roof is fitted after glazing. I've started fitting lamp brackets with the upper end ones both on.
  6. Took a few photos of DitD at North Shields today (it is looking superb even without rude vegetables) and Damian asked if I could put some on here to prove they were there - he'd forgotten his camera... Old Gringo and 2ManySpams couldn't make it this weekend, they were lost in a field measuring something...
  7. Hi Guys, There's a little something heading your way for the layout (I've left it with Damian today) and it includes a 'hoss. If the cortina is ever pulled out of the cut there's someone to take it away... Oh, the dog's name is Jet.
  8. Cracking progress, is that Janus scratchbuilt?
  9. Thanks for bringing this up Andy and clarifying the rules, but would the offenders read this? It was a photo of mine that Paul says was also taken, on contacting the person at first they denied that it was my photo but they have since credited me but I also have not had an apology. As Paul said if they had asked I would have given permission freely but in future (unless it is someone I know and trust) I would think twice about giving permission.
  10. Forgot to mention, yes the original w/m crossheads, they seem to be ok.
  11. Hope this shows what you need. Mine runs well round curves as well, the problem with the cylinders is that they should be behind the valence rather than under it, I seem to remember that it was a twisted mess when I first put it together!
  12. Last signal cabin from me, Fellburn Crossing. situated just to the west of the cabin in the previous post, based on Ponteland and built from Evergreen plastic with a Wills interior.
  13. Hope this shows up ok, material removed from the valences and the tops of the cylinders plus 30thou plasticard packing to raise the body. Also seen is the side control springs on the bogie (that I'd forgotten about!).
  14. My effort, it has a DJH gearbox (44-1?) and a Mashima 16/28 and it runs well.
  15. Yes, should be a challenge, certainly not the best of kits. I built one quite a few years ago, and the major problem I found was the height of the cylinders, the top of them should be just below the top of the footplate - not underneath it! quite a bit of metal was removed from both the cylinders and footplate and I even raised the whole body about 0.5mm (and it still looks ok). Good luck.
  16. Watching the diving and waiting for Peter Kay - Top Bombing...

I bet one of Peter's Hob Nobs could soak up all the water in the pool ( they are the Marines of the Biscuit world !).

  17. Another one from me, from my first exhibition layout 'Fellburn' shown between 2003 and 2010. NER Northern division overhead cabin on a rebuilt base. Model built 2001.
  18. 80118 successfully re-gauged!
