  1. After reading through this thread the other day I decided to get one and now it's arrived I think it will be getting quite a bit of use. It's the same as the one linked to by Iak but I got it from Amazon for just under £90. The internal dimensions are 245 x 146 x 70mm and is large enough to fit an 4mm NER coach (or two) in it, what more would you need! I also ordered some cleaning fluid but it hasn't arrived yet. I've tried it with warm water and washing up liquid on a 'tarnished' coach body (the one pictured, been on the shelf for a couple of years) and after 6 min it had cleaned it fairly well, hopefully the proper fluid will work even better, I then tried the tank/cab sides of my 2012 challenge F8 and they are now gleaming!!! Lovely bit of kit!
  2. Is wondering if Andy has a use for that spare pixel?

  3. You'll need to fill it very full of coal then. That's the photo I used B)
  4. Nothing boring about that, good to see you're making progress. This is boring... (sorry )
  5. Hi Andy, some great stuff here, can't believe I haven't commented yet, that J39 looks superb, a friend built one of those kits a few years ago and said it was a pleasure to put together, as all of Jim's kits are. 1491 must be a popular loco, I've recently completed an EM model of it (Alexander kit) for Scottiedog!

  10. Crop rotation in the 14th century was - considerably - more widespread... after... God, I know this... don't tell me... after 1172.

Don't remind me of crop rotation! I can remember doing paperwork at DEFRA that went along the lines of "I've lent half of this field to Farmer A to grow turnips an, and in return he's lent me part of one of his fields to grow carrots on. I've lent another part of my field to Farmer B to grow beetroots on, and he's lent me part of his field etc!" Then we realised that in a year's time they'd be writing in to say they'd swapped it all back again....

  13. Runs very smoothly through the point work, very good, I hope you're pleased with it.
  14. There's nearly always something for the body on the chassis fret, I always look now, I've made the complex NER bunker top lamp brackets only to find it on the chassis fret...
  15. Here's one I built for a club layout a few years ago. It's a bit basic, with no interior and is one of the simplest of NER designs with very few embellishments on the outside. It's built from cars with Metcalfe brick, D&S windows and Wills slates.
  16. Do you really think they're going to waste good pasties on the great unwashed?
  17. I thought it was a cannon for firing parsnips (or cans of deodorant) into the crowd at exhibitions...
