  1. https://www.ledauphine.com/ardeche/2018/12/10/la-taxe-carbone-fait-aussi-tousser-le-mastrou?fbclid=IwAR0pmE6bpO4tQ5MgxqzNa9Vh1Gk6lfwYPREj6TiTNZmZ-FXZ7Xv7a8JVQbc Came across this article on another forum. Taxes in France mean the cost of coal will more than double from €350/tonne in 2015 to €750/tonne in 2020. Not good news for some of the small lines.
  2. 313047 is now back in service due to the delayed introduction of the 717s. A few are in store at Dollands Moor and Cricklewood. Just three more sets to be delivered. Into service next year... Which month, no idea! EddieK, you're not after a driving coach as another garden ornament are you?!
  3. You can only cut out each motor coach individually, so cutting out the equipment means the unit is on half power. Sanders were only fitted a few years ago, about 7-8 I think. Don't know how they lasted so long without them, the amount of sand used is incredible!
  4. I didn't realise Tripod still hosted websites. I thought they'd disappeared years ago!
  5. 313047 is the only one definitely taken out of service at the moment that I know of, though 057 may also be out of traffic. 717 introduction is meant to start on Monday, but don't get your hopes up! Edit - those 313s are stabled at Hitchin up yard during the day as a couple of sidings are out of use at Hertford North at the moment. They run ECS from Hertford via Letchworth about 11am and leave about 3pm. There's some overnight workings too, but I don't believe there are currently any booked 313 workings north of Stevenage. Bit of a pain as my train to work at weekends used to be a 313 from Letchworth to Hornsey, but it now runs empty to Stevenage to pick up the diagram there.
  6. If anyone wants to build their own... http://www.tecnomodel-treni.it/dettagli.php?id=59237 At least the postage is free! Looking good Fred, it's a stunning looking model.
  7. 6695 has welded tanks rather than riveted, so would need a new moulding compared to the others.
  8. Ooh, very nice! May be after a couple of rakes when they come out. Saves me having to use Worsley Works etches and a lot of scratchbuilding.
  9. For the last few years my shifts have coincided with the clock changes. In spring I'd always be on days, so what was usually a 5.30am alarm was in fact 4.30am. Clocks going back always fell on nights too, so an extra hour at work for nothing! Or just leave an hour early as I'd worked my 11 hours by that point...!
  10. Well the Hall body is pretty awful, so a good choice!
  11. I sold mine a couple of weeks ago. 45048 body, no nameplate, 45114 (class 44) chassis. I had intended to do it up, but never got round to it and needed the cash.
  12. A video of the Antonov landing. That looks nice and bouncy!
  13. https://www.ad.nl/video/militaire-vliegtuigen-botsen-op-elkaar-op-vliegveld~p52007 How?!
  14. I'd like one, but I'll wait until I see one in the flesh and actually working before purchasing one. I'm not prepared to fork out £135 in advance for something that runs as appallingly as the Hatton's 14xx.
  15. In fairness, it doesn't say the new standards would be high.

  17. Better get mine on there then. £384.99 buy it now!
  18. Arezzo is home of Trasporto Ferroviario Toscano. Basically two branches from Arezzo, one north, one south. Pretty scenery and some interesting traction. Some of the locos occasionally used on passenger services, though now reduced with new EMUs arriving, are from the 1920s. The line is also home to an ex LMS jackshaft shunter, which as far as I know is still operational. Though they have reduced the amount of freight on the line, and there are rumours that the two E626 electric locos and their D341 diesel may be sold soon. They also have a few steam locos, one of which is operational. http://www.ferrovie.info/index.php/it/tft-trasporto-ferroviario-toscano-eng
  19. None of Colin's colour stuff has been published before as far as I know.
  20. No idea of price at the moment, though I'll try and find out. It's being published by Kidderminster Railway Museum. If anyone can't make Kidderminster next weekend, hopefully Colin will be at the Stevenage Loco Society meeting with copies of his book on Thursday 30th August. David Postle from KRM is doing the show that night. Then on Thursday 13th December Colin will be doing a one off presentation of Transition. http://stevenagelocosociety.co.uk/meetings/
  21. No room in the Siemens depot for the next few days, possibly a few weeks, for them to be commissioned. Also, although the 387s are rated for 110mph, as far as I know, none of the drivers are trained to drive at that speed. Also means 365s and 387s can be used on the same diagrams.
  22. A pair of them are arriving to help out due to the fire risk. 20142 has arrived, 20189 should be on its way. Both are mainline registered so Whitby trains can be top and tailed. There are speed restrictions on the branch due to the hot weather so the turn round time at Whitby has been reduced.
  23. I'm sure the power car was inside the museum at Shildon at one point.
  24. FS Gr 743 Crosti boilered 2-8-0 with electric lights will do me nicely. Though after several years of trying, I've finally managed to buy one from eBay for a decent price, rather than the €300+ they normally go for. Guess I'll have to have a pair on the layout then!
  25. I believe that one's moved now.
