  1. NSE went through a brief phase around 1987 of omitting the black window surrounds from lots of repainted units, including Class 313, 315 and 317s. They looked terrible and the black was soon back again. It was all over before the revised darker blue / curved upsweep livery started in 1988.
  2. You would need to tool up a new Trailer Second, as well as new underframes for the Driving cars, as these were DC only. The good news is that you could then also use the TS with the 314 to make a 315. You could also model the 508 in original 4-car configuration for the South-Western lines, as well as Merseyside, pre-refurbishment. Depending on costs, could you just get a new end slide done for the post-refurbishment 507/508s - there are some wonderful liveries you could do. At the end of the day, it is making the numbers work. I am sure there are a lot of NW modellers who would be interested but whether that would be enough to make the project viable is another thing.
  3. Not a primitive solution, correcting something that was missed in manufacturing. We will do the fix for the M7 for ay customer who does not feel happy doing it themselves. We are as bummed disappointed by the situation as anyone else. The replacement 156 bodies are going to be in production soon - the reason for the delay is that we decided to correct the shade of orange and this took a lot of attempts by the factory to get right. We have big plans for N Gauge, with at least a dozen unannounced new and retool projects currently underway.
  4. Hi Stu - sorry to hear that; I shall follow up on Tuesday.
  5. Common sense applies on both sides. I am sure that we would happily repair an M7 if the customer managed to damage the metal strip (which is quite robust). Just drop us a mail; we are a nice bunch :-)
  6. Just an update to say that I am working with a potential new owner for the Electra range and will have a proper update once everything is official.
  7. They look excellent, particularly the 450; just a pity they are so far behind the times. The close up photography is cruel to the metallic finish on the TPx 350 - it should look fine at normal viewing distance. It's a shame that I was never able to print metallics during my Electra days but the grey version certainly was popular.
  8. Hi Stu - please e-mail sales@Dapol.co.uk and we will pick this up on Monday.
  9. I'm sorry it is taking so long to get the replacement 156 shells done. We decided to get the Strathclyde Red shade spot on and this has taken a lot of back and forth with the factory to get right, Happy to say the latest deco sample is spot on, so these will be in production as soon as possible. Please don't ask me for an ETA or I might start to whimper!
  10. Dapol have a very active N Gauge schedule, with plenty of re-liveries as well as new models which have not yet been announced. We are also updating many of our older models, such as the M7 and Ivatt.
  11. I hope this will feature in a future batch - I love doing "specials".
  12. These are the UK models with correct front end details, including air pipes both sides of the couplings. We will be working to ensure as many of the Euro-Spec 66 detail differences can be captured.
  13. You just beat me to it... It is with regret that I must announce that Electra Rail is no longer able to trade, due to the failure of the vinyl printer. The printer is twelve years old and would require parts in excess of £2.5K to get working, which is not economically possible for me. I am looking at what options are available, including winding-up totally or selling the business on. Massive thanks for everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe crowdfunder. As the repairs were not carried out, I have arranged for all donations to be refunded. This should take 7-10 days. If anybody is interested in taking on Electra Rail, please contact me. As well as this website, there is a library of over 1000 files ready for printing and many more that would need formatting for printing. If you have any queries, please e-mail adam.warr@electrarail.co.uk
  14. Not if I have anything to do with it .😁 The original EP tooling had a some room for improvement, so we decided to make sure it is correct before releasing the model. We have spent a long time pouring over photographs and plans to make sure everything is in it's correct place.
  15. Many thanks for the mention, John. I have been amazed by the response and have raised enough to cover the call-out charges and (hopefully) whatever bits are needed to fix the troublesome Roland. May I just say thank you to all who have contributed - it means a lot.
  16. Looks totally wonderful and I cannot wait for my Orangey one to arrive. Speaking purely personally, I would prefer the B/G version to not have the door-opening strips, as these were removed very early on. I cannot remember seeing any on the 313s when I started spotting in Stevenage, aged 8-ish. We didn't see many 313s at the time; Hertford North to Langley Junction was still DMU-operated but there were some evening 313 parcels services when the mailbags were loaded into the wide doorways. My brother was also a spotter and had a car so we used to visit Welwyn garden City to cop 313s.
  17. Just returned from a week in Tenerife and happily managed to get almost all outstanding orders printed off, so currently up and running as normal. Looking forward I am having serious thoughts about the future for Electra, particularly now I am working full-time for Dapol. Just putting feelers out if there is anyone who would be interested in taking it on (with or without the printer), or if I should call it a day later in the year.
  18. I share your pain with the multi-coloured roofs, so will be closely specifying a consistent set of colour palettes for future Mk3s.
  19. I'm giving the Mk3 artwork a complete revamp, so I sincerely hope it will be OK. 😟
  20. Without wanting to spill the beans too much, I am happy to say that we are adding the INTERCITY and Virgin DVTs to the batch due next.
  21. It will indeed, along with the rectangular buffers.
