  1. Well that's bizarre. I just checked the search function and it doesn't work as per Melmerby's post. However I know I used it earlier today to check the version of the PC and it was OK. I've done the pending downloads including KB4532695 and it's still the same. A blank search page. Hey ho, wait for the fix to the fix then. Rob
  2. Strange, that should be fixed with this KB4532695 https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-optional-cumulative-update-kb4532695-released/ I've not had a problem, and have not as yet downloaded this fix. But it's flagged as an optional download. Which seems odd. Rob
  3. There has been some recent success against these scam call centres. See https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3csymt0 Rob
  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-51298820 from 1 hour ago. Rob
  5. For a comprehensive article on UK dialling codes see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_telephone_numbers_in_the_United_Kingdom Rob
  6. Here is the proposal document https://assets.alexandrapalace.com/uploads/2019/11/Proposal-Document.pdf Nothing has been decided yet, the charges are not yet set. Although the propose £6- £8 on top of the ticket price is a bit steep. ( most visitors would probably stay more than a couple of hours). Rob
  7. Spot on, I worked for Hobbycraft some years ago and that was the way things were done. I assume it's the same now. Generally the price will be governed by head office. So any stores that have them will show the same price. You should be able to ring your local store to see if there are any in stock and they will reserve it for you. See https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/storefinder for the nearest store and number. HTH Rob
  8. There was a similar thread to this one, which I now can't find, a few weeks ago. Seems eBay are getting more particular with their rules. Rob
  9. An email from Rails this morning with various new Bachmann loco's, including the class 158. Most are for pre-orders, but there are a few left for buying now. More stock in January. Rob
  10. Hi Phil, AFAIK I'm not subscribed to Facebook! Rob
  11. Played fine yesterday evening and again this morning, in latest Chrome browser. Is indeed a Facebook link. Rob
  12. Advent email from Rails, today it's a Midland 4F https://railsofsheffield.com/products/27619/Bachmann-31-883-oo-gauge-class-4f-midland-railways-black-0-6-0-steam-locomotive-3848?utm_source=Mailing+List&utm_campaign=695029bcbc-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_12_05_03_16&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_74d01bc2ed-695029bcbc-5752093 Rob
  13. The supermarkets are probably not that interested in making money out of the customer, for parking, rather controlling parking so their legitimate customers can in fact park. The petrol stations, in general, don't have a "overstay" problem. But the companies running the cameras approach the stations with an " offer they can't refuse" and both make a few bob. It seems every business now diversifies to get maximum spend, where previously a petrol station was for petrol, and a greengrocer sold fruit and veg'. So patron's stay longer than a splash and dash, or some carrots and a turnip. Rob
  14. The speaker is 0.5 Watt which would be adequate, for a home layout, I'd think. Although at full power it may distort somewhat. You could add a small outboard amplifier if it wasn't loud enough. Rob
  15. The problem is, we, the motorist, have to go through the appeals procedure, with its attendant problems, because the camera system is a catch all. It doesn't account for legitimate reasons for overstaying the time limit. Such as the car washer above. The staff at the counter have no input to the system as it's run by an independent company. Rob
  16. A bit late but posted for completeness. Unfortunately no pic's. 66 122/108 at Billericay 11:28 31/10/2019 Down 66 703/783 at Barking 13:27 21/11/2019 Down Rob
  17. "The other extreme. A Derby LtWt dmu at Trumington, approaching Cambridge from the south, probably 1967. Stewart" Can I have a "P" Bob?
  18. This video, although quite long and from an American viewpoint, does summarise the situation quite well. There being 4 separate issues involved. HTH Rob
  19. Did you, at some previous recent time, log on from a device other than your "normal" one. That can flag up as "suspicious" to Google and can lead to this message. I get it when I visit my daughters in Germany and use her PC, Just Google trying to protect you. Yahoo does it too. HTH Rob
  20. Hi, Any update on the 00 ones? The website doesn't show them, it says "OO and N versions to follow…….." . Not not sure how up to date the site is. Thanks, Rob Edit: Website seems exactly the same as when I looked some 18 months ago.
  21. West Ham must hold the record for playing teams, that have just changed their manager, immediately as their next game. Usually it ends in a defeat for us, as the players up their game to impress the new man. Maybe a draw at the weekend will please both sides. I liked Poch', as a manager and a person. Hope you don't suffer too much with the "new bloke". Rob
  22. Hi, SWMBO had a text this morning from "EE" stating there was a problem with the account and a link to "the relevant site", We are with EE but the contact number is my mobile and her mobile is not registered with EE. Nice try scammer. Beware if you are on EE. Rob
  23. But on the home page is this http://www.shoeburynessmrc.co.uk/index.html Rob
  24. Excellent summary, thank you. Rob
  25. Twice in 3 days now I've had people pass me and turn right whilst I was waiting to turn right, and indicating , but wasn't at the stop/give way line. The the junction approaches weren't wide enough for 2 cars side by side, until at the line. So I'm behind the car turning left at the junction, and to the right almost on the dividing marking, and people are going round me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today I had to go to east London in the car. When I was working as a mobile technician covering most of east London I thought driving standards up there were poor. It was an eye opener, 17 years later, to visit that area again. No lane discipline, stop where you like, U-turns where you like. Pedestrians with a death wish. I could go on but won't. Needless to say I'll use public transport if I can avoid having to take the car up there again. Need a lie down in a darkened room. Rob
