  1. Yesterday on the way to my Covid booster. Old guy on a bicycle approaching the main road(which I'm on) from the left. Double hatched lines for him to stop at. No just comes straighout and luckily I miss him. On the way back 2 kids on electric scooters crossing the road at an island by a mini roundabout. I expect them to just rush across, which they do. I have to brake on the roundabout and nearly get rear ended by the car behind. Then an older lady jogging, not facing the oncoming traffic and in the road. There's pavement on the other side. I have to slow right down as we're approaching a blind bend and can't safetly overtake. Eventually I pass her on a clear bit of road after the bend. She has ear buds in and is totally unaware of me and the crocodile now formed. Rob

  15. Yes they exist over here too. 👎 When purchasing you need to look carefully at the product details, or if in store check them out. It does seem a retrograde step, but hopefully they won't catch on once people realise the bulbs aren't replaceable. Rob
  16. Andy, Thanks for arranging all this. I've signed up and all seems well. Even if it hadn't gone to plan, it's worth the £12 for what you get normally. Rob
  17. Hi, They are 47 ohm resistors. They should be easily sourced, via eBay or electronics sites. They shouldn't be too expensive, and you need to get the same size and wattage surface mount devices (SMD). I don't suppose there's a diagram for the circuit? It would tell you what you need. Good luck with the repairs. Rob
  18. It had been happening a bit during the "troubles" so I didn't flag it up as Andy had enough on his plate. But it seems to do it all the time now. Possibly a setting we've changed or has been altered during the swap to the new servers? I'm sure it'll be something simple. Rob
  19. I'm not sure where you live, or what vehicle you drive, but here in Essex the average motorist has to be a slalomist to avoid them, there are so many. To be fair some are marked with coloured paint to let the repairers know which ones to fix. so that helps with harzard percetion. Although some are so old the paint has faded to near invisiblity ! Similarly normal road markings. Most potholes are initially caused by heavy lorries of unsuitable weight for the roads they are using and were never design for. The continual pounding of the surface opens them up and general traffic does the rest. Potholes are a real hazard and cause the average road user no end of problems that have little to do with how you drive. Rob
  20. I did this online at 70, and it was very straightforward. My old licence was a green paper one, so I had to have a photo' for the new one. I think it used my passport photo'. Looking at the info' on their website(below) for over 70's it says " You can change your photo' at the same time as renewing your licence". That seems to suggest that you don't NEED to change it, which would rule out the passport bit. However the reality may be different. I'll find out in about a years time. Rob
