  1. Something else I have been working on.....this is a pre production Heljan 0 gauge class 47. Repainted and finished as GD tat 568. It was in a very rundown condition, I still have a bit more weathering detail to complete, but thought you would like to see it so far. I think it looks pretty good :-) i believe these are due to hit the shops late this year. As always if you want one or 6, get in touch!
  2. Hi. Phoenix Precision. Various different shades with added white and grey.

  4. Morning guys. A pair of the marvellous Heljan 0 gauge class 03 shunters today. Both renumbered as 03107, and yes I know that number was actually a Heljan release, but they had all gone. Con rods painted yellow, weathered, and Paul Chetter/Zimo sound fitted.
  5. Another 37/4 today, this time 37419. Same recipe as yesterday!
  6. We start the week off with a Heljan 0 gauge 37/4. For a change, not large logo. We have 37427, 'Highland Enterprise'. Scotrail branded, Legoman sound fitted, and tattily weathered.
  7. I have to disagree. I fit hundreds of soundchips over the course of a year. In order of reliability, this is my experience. ESU. 99.9% Failures extremely rare. Zimo. 70% Smaller micro decoders problematic. TTS. 0% Every decoder I was asked to install, either had faults, failed during install, or early into initial use by the customer. I made the decision to neither supply or install this rubbish. And all electronic products are not destined for failure, I have some 30+ year old British bred and manufactured audio equipment that performs as well, and is just as reliable as the day it was purchased
  8. Morning guys. Today's finished dirty blue loveliness comes in the form of Heljan 0 gauge class 25, renumbered as 25266, weathered, and Legoman sound fitted. Love these beasties.
  9. Gosh, one busy busy week! Some further lovely completed locos on the menu, here we have the first of this weeks batch, a Heljan 0 gauge class 20. Legoman soundfitted and tattily weathered, numbered as 20031.
  10. I am afraid these won't fit your 47....they don't fit the original first issue diesels, just the later 2nd generation chassis. I have no idea why these are marked up as class 47....they don't even fit the upcoming model.
  11. The new 00 gauge Heljan class 25. Subject of much discussion on 'that' forum, it was interesting to watch the scathing comments subside a bit once folk actually started taking delivery of these, and seeing them in the flesh. Yes, there are indeed a couple of minor issues, the headcode box glass covers are a poor fit, the domino blinds have been wonkily applied, and yes, there is an internal cablight fitted, but it has been inadvertantly wired to the markers, so it's always on. These are all small, and easily rectified issues, not quite life or death. It certainly looks like a class 25 to me, and runs superbly. Knocks spots of the now ancient Bachmann tooling. And yes, the bodyside boiler grille and footstep covers are supplied as detailing accessories.
  12. And another big white stripe beast today.....yet another Heljan 0 gauge 37. Fully detailed, repainted and weathered as 37078, 'Teeside Steelmaster'. Legoman sound and a huge EM3 speaker.
  13. Ah right, now I see what you mean. So we may possibly have a forward facing led for the markers, and a rear facing led towards the internal cab. I haven't inspected a production model in the flesh yet, but I wonder if this is the same issue as with the 0 gauge class 50. There are indeed separate leds fitted for the markers and internal cabs on this loco...but they have been wired to work together. As a matter of course during sound installation I altered the pcb track feed and added a function lead so as they can work correctly separately as per prototype. I have a couple of 25s due in for weathering soon and will have a look.
  14. All very confusing. Someone has said the only wires leading from the chassis to body are 3 cables. Others have said separate cab lights are fitted. This image, and I presume this is out of the box wiring, show a twin cable feed to each marker panel led, and no sign of any other additional internal cab led.
  15. One common positive feed and two negatives are all that is required to separately feed two leds.
  16. Good morning everyone. Back to 00 gauge for today's completed loco....one of my very last 4mm resprays. 37069, in glorious dirty TE late 80s blue. This is a full repaint, Legoman soundfitted, detailed and weathered. RSH cantrail dividers added as per the prototype.
  17. I don't. Heljan never specified working internal cab lighting. Sounds as though the rear cover sealing any extraneous light from the headcode marker led board has either come adrift or is missing. Quite unprofessional for a retailer to go on a rant such as that, same with last weeks photos. If a new release loco lands on my bench and has any issues during initial inspection, I'll take it up with the supplier.
  18. Pretty naff weather today....wet windy and cold. So unfortunately no natural light shots of this beast, which is almost too big to fit on the bench! Heljan 0 gauge class 40. Renumbered as 112, Legoman soundfitted, and weathered.
  19. As mentioned many times before, they are included separately in the detailing pack.
  20. Here we have the first of quite a large batch of Heljan 0 gauge class 37s to be completed. Fully reworked from the original release model, enhancements include, Bodyside panels and steps filled and flushed. Bufferbeam cowlings cut away, new ones fashioned, and new bufferbeams fitted. Full repaint. Soundfitted. Detailed. Weathered. 37008, in typical mid 1980s filthy GD condition. Lots more of these to follow.
  21. Hornby class 50, weathered and sound fitted, no additional detailing.
  22. And don't forget to know the difference between now and know.
  23. Not quite getting you. Where are the 'huge retail prices'....there haven't really been any significant increases for a good few years. And O gauge locos have pretty much never been supplied with numbers or decoders. A rather odd comment.
