Congratulations to you all. Leah shares her birthday with the Queen and my mum!

  2. First 4 and a half months of marriage successfully completed, first 3 months of pregnancy (by the wife, not me!) completed - and a burning desire to get the modelling gear back out :)

Funny how this status appeared just above my one about coupling rods ;-)

Cheers all :) - We are both very happy!

Rather than jumping straight back into the shed, I'm going to take advantage of something that was mentioned a while ago and fill the alcove above my PC with a small shelf shunting plank, using stuff which I have kicking around primarily.

      reevesthecat

well done glad to see it wasn't a shotgun wedding!!

  3. Best Germany v Greece game? - Well, I do remember one... Germany started favourites in that game as well, but were beaten by a controversial last-minute headed goal from Socrates. The goal was hotly disputed by the Germans, with Hegel arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx claimed it was offside.

I managed to visit Hereford Models once without buying anything, but I felt all faint afterwards and had to lie down for a while.

Yep, thats my thinking - this will be the second day on the prescribed painkillers, so hopefully taking today off and resting it will allow me to go back tomorrow.

Could someone collect you from the station and drop you off again at close ?

    4. dseagull

      dseagull

Just hobbled down the shop and back. Definatley easier than yesterday (and this morning!). Might be able to blag a lift back to the station in the afternoon if I need it tomorrow though! - I'm off on Wednesday anyway (Easter Egg hunt at the local farm shop/pick your own with little man), so will probably just put up with it tomorrow!

  10. has suprisingly been given permission to turn an unused shelf into a photo plank/diorama for the lounge wall. I'd be rude not to take advantage of this unexpected development!

I think her ladyship would rather have a nice rural scene on the wall, even if it may have a train of some kind on it, than my mounted photos of the Goldstone Ground from 1997 ;)

it will end in tears, get it in writing, that there is no other motive behind this sudden generosity from the female of the species....

    4. dseagull

      dseagull

I'm sure that it's just that, as mentioned, 'something pretty' on the wall is more socially acceptable than framed photos of a sadly defunct football ground, murdered by a certain businessman who will, karma willing, still end his days atop a bonfire just like the song says...!

    4. dseagull

      dseagull

It was 'Forestall', I'd got another clue wrong... - the wife worked it out. As for cryptic crosswords, I've never been able to do those, even trying to do the Sun one using only the cryptic clues used to stump me!

  13. Another layout, another frustrating evening failing at soldering feeds to track. I think its time to look into those pre-soldered fishplates...

It's not through want of practice, it is just something I've never been able to get to grips with - despite trying different irons, different bits, different solder - just one of those things, like performing brain surgery or enjoying rap music, that I seemingly cannot 'get'!

Kev: Thanks for the offer, I'm going to leave it for a couple of days and try again first!

      tractionman

Place motor on top of track with wire through tie-bar. Centre blades make sure motor is square to track. Mark board where notched for screws are. Drill through board with fine bit. Fit two screws loosely add motor fit other two screws and tighten. I found this worked for me.

  21. Enjoying the new Pink Floyd album. Not enjoying Leah's stinky nappies. Three this morning, and typically the wife did a night shift last night so it's all down to me... :yuk:
