  1. I can't believe they are duplicating the Bachmann offering, you'd have thought they'd gone for a different running number instead of 57312 ! 57603 in GWR green will be a good addition as they previously produced all the others on the original release. And presume the 57/6's will come with snow ploughs.
  2. Anybody actually managed to get a full set of Fag Packet MkIIIs that are acceptable, or fault free. I think mine are all going back. I think my best hope is the colours of the Hornby power cars match the original Lima coaches.
  3. Sadly they even have first class poor quality... I'm just going through mine now..
  4. There are so many liveries that could have potential sales that have not been produced yet I'm surprised that no progress on any tooling mods or changes has been announced. Would anybody really want to buy another customers tools , it would probably define the manufacturing facility as the tools are probably not that interchangeable between plastic injection production machines...
  5. In the detail pack you should have lamp irons for the two square holes !
  6. Yes, badly positioned name plates and glue marks and yes, the miss positioned printing on the first release, WHICH, were all replaced FOC with new bodies, including a service of return and get it replaced or return and replace yourself.
  7. What’s a real shame is that’s two significant errors on what is one of the best RTR models on the market.
  8. I sincerely hope it’s not the same person at Dapol signing the Class 59 production sample off as it is the latest batch of Class 68’s
  9. There are eight screws, the two screws on the cab ends need to be kept separate as they are smaller and shorter, I believe the other six, four for the decoder roof section release and one on each RH side 15mm along but hidden under the bogie looking from below the chassis are all the same size and length. As previously mentioned just ease the body sides away from the cab its held by a lug on each side it will come out, you can detach the cab light wires at the connector to give yourself more room. I use Modelu drivers 1155, 1152 or 1150 for the 90's, depending on the livery and or era, again you need to trim the feet off and paint them, they cost £4.50 each which is quite expensive but they do look really good.
  10. Presume LH is Hattons and RH is Bachmann. The printing of the blue and red half circles on the right hand one looks crisper and more prototypical, but the cantrail stripe on the left hand one looks finer and more prototypical. And agree with previous statement on the detail on the bogies, it is a lot more defined on the Hattons one, but I guess the tooling is starting to wear out as it is quite old now on the Bachmann model.
  11. Normally get a BCC email on a Monday announcing the announcement, but I guess it is a Bank Holiday today !
  12. I think Bachmann have replacements on their spares site, even if you have to glue it in at least it will be sprung.
  13. There is also a DB one which looks much better IMHO, 66099. (Not my picture).
  14. Some of my pictures that can easily be recreated from Bachmann and Hattons Class 66's........
  15. Anyone got a 43013 body they no longer need ?
  16. I'm looking for a replacement body for 43013 preferably. Don't mind one with the offset printing. Happy to pay for the item and post if anyone has one that's no longer required after being replaced.
  17. Are owners of these wagons managing to turn the tail lights on and off without decoders.. I know the instructions make it sounds simple enough but mine just don’t seem to behave....
  18. I can assure you they are from one of my new 00 scale packs.
  19. That’s what put me off the smoke generator. The standard Dapol sound models have the option not to have the smoke unit.
  20. i think that’s really good marketing, more choice for the buyer, but I’m sure the 00 versions will be rerun with new liveries and running numbers.
  21. Thanks Jo, good tip on the super glue, two of my new wagons were ok, but both springs loose in the box on the third, the glue did the trick on the point on the wagon and I held the spring on the point of a cocktail stick
  22. Nothing detailed on the website but it might be worth contacting DCC Supplies in Worcester I bought a set of five from the first run, two outers and three inners, just added three inners to make eight. Hopefully there will be more Inners, unlike the Autoballaster's I don't believe they run in sets of five, just outers on each end, but I may be wrong.
  23. Totally agree, it’s a great approach by Dapol and can’t understand why Bachmann and Hornby don’t follow suit. At least Hornby have now got their act together on Mk3 HST coach sets. Bachmann are the worst offenders. I’ve been building two rakes of JPAs and up to twelve and eight, but looks like no more to come sadly. I wonder if the loose / missing springs is getting back to Dapol, I have three Inners arriving tomorrow, fingers crossed. Would help if they provided replacements in the box but they may not know about it yet. I’ve had one wagon with a missing spring, was returned to ROS who replaced it as it wasn’t in the box. I have found a load of Kadee springs in one of my spare bits boxes, believe people have fitted these, but we shouldn’t have too ! Update: The new packs have two spare springs included, see picture, this is from one of the new later Inner wagons
