  1. A new 66 from Bachmann, when they are close to production....maybe summer announcement. My £ is on that, if i were a gambler
  2. Yes the lyric from Grace Jones, and a cracking song too. Apparently though the song is not about motor traffic though...
  3. Is there a space for an NEM coupler mount? if so does it come with one?
  4. Agree with TT100Diesels, a great show and I was also impressed by the friendliness of the layout exhibitors who were very generous with their time explaining their techniques and models. Well done and congrats to the organisers who put the show together. The catering was good too!
  5. The class 25 has a very nice finish - is it an SLW model?
  6. Described by a reviewer as an ideal entry into O gauge, there was however no information on its running qualities and what minimum radius curves that it needs. Has anyone had any experience of this loco? Its rather basic around the edges; handrails and air brake pipes etc are moulded rather than separately applied. One example has been seen for sale at £200, which seems a budget price, until you realise that the Dapol class 08 shunter in O gauge is around this price and is much more detailed.
  7. Nice , but if we are in HO scale and the UK coach is an OO model, is gonna look too wide/tall . Unless you have some Joueff Playcraft models handy of course
  8. Have they all been sold now? Will there be another batch, if so when?
  9. Thanks for the reply. I do remember seeing class 22s at Axminster, and Abingdon in 1967. A friend claims he saw one at Banbury and even Leamington.
  10. This is probably an old request, but has the plan to build a 'new' class 22 collapsed? An internet search seems conclusive, but thats the way it looks, unless someone (with ££) has come forward? The old project seemed to be linked to the old LLC which is now gone of course
  11. Very nice so far, hope you develop it a little more after the show
  12. Yes the westerns look nice...but is the maroon 52 colour a shade or 2 too dark?
  13. Many thanks for that , good choice of paint scheme, Paul
  14. hi Chris what make is the blue and white PW office /hut in the yard on PMB? Paul
  15. A very nice addition to the Accurascale nascent O gauge range would be a class 22 Diesel loco , as it is short and suitable for micro layouts ( and roundy roundies) and complements a lot of the existing hydraulic fleet available on O scale ...classes 14,35, 42,52. They worked across the south midlands and Thames valley, and of course the Bristol area and the wonderful Forest of Dean, and not just Devon and Cornwall. Come on chaps, you know it makes (commercial) sense!
  16. Well Rob, a belated thanks for your lovely FS shunter images. If your thoughts are turning towards East Anglian backwaters, particularly the early diesel years, and especially with the Accy 31 imminent, then a browse through the tome 'First Generation diesels in East Anglia' by Alan C Butcher may provide impetus for your future layouts, usual disclaimer. All the small and medium classes 03/04/05/15/24/30/31 are seen often with short trains, as by the 1960s road competition was eating into rail traffic at an alarming rate. The only omission is the class 21, which was only there for a couple of years, cheers Paul
  17. Interesting to see how tidy the stations and the track are in pre-Network Rail days in this film. The line was only a marginal loss maker too... many other routes lost far more and stayed open, possibly as the MP's in those areas were in marginal constituencies?
  18. Cant wait to see your Italian job, will it feature exploding doors and subterranean minis? Roco and ACME do some impossibly cute FS shunters...care to show/
  19. The consequences of Mrs T policies are now clearly coming home to roost when we see the state of social housing rivers energy transport. Only one that worked? Good old , BT as it was kept as a protected private monopoly.
  20. Is it possible to configure a Lenz 1024 decoder to run on DC ? I purchased an HO Proto GP9 from Rails second hand and the decoder is hard wired. My US layout and locos are all analogue, and, having no desire to remove the decoder, I need to know if there is a CV that can be changed to make it run on DC only. This would also make it easier to resell in the distant future, should I wish to.
  21. Has anyone encountered problems using non sound DCC decoders on this loco? When I run my D6703 ( which otherwise runs great in DC and DCC) with just one other DCC fitted loco (it does not matter which one), after about 2 mins or so , the controller - a NEC Powercab that has up to now been fine - momentarily cuts out and the speeds are set to zero for both the locos that were running. The decoder fitted is a 21 pin Dapol Imperium. When D6703 is not running and 2-3 others are , there is no problem. Is there some incompatibility with the 37 and certain types of decoder? I would add this is a smallish layout, 11' by 6' twin track main line arrangement with dead frogs throughout.
