  1. Looking good, I have been unable to find any pictures of the large hole in the middle of the well, was ths simple planked over in later years? Simple enough to do on the model with Wills planking or plasticard. http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/p152864854/e28aa50f7#h3adedfd9 Where did you get the Ratio bogies from? Having trouble finding them on the Net. Whos wheels are you using? What colour green is correct for army livery in the 60s and 70s? Sorry about all the questions. Looking forward to seeing some interesting loads on these wagons.
  2. I like the look of your Warwell WBF, I know you have already said about the problems of adding rivets but I wondered if there is a way of reproducing the ribs on the inclined parts of the deck. I guess these are short strips of flat metal welded to the deck of the real wagons to aid the grip of wheels or tracks of vehicles.

  4. In BR days army green http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/p152864854, not sure what livery would have been during WW2.

    Dapol Class 22

At least we wont have to worry about this one being the wrong shade of blue.
  6. If its not too early for this I would like to reserve a Warwell in original condition.
  7. That looks very good WBF. The deeper sole bars are certainly an improvement. A sensible plan to use bogies that are already avilable. I would certainly be interested in Warwells in original condition.
  8. That looks very good, I guess from the couplings that this is 4mm scale, I would be very interested in these if you made them available Is it possible to reproduce the rivet detail with this process? http://www.flickr.co...hen/4454693559/ they are quite prominent on these wagons. Bogies are available from several sources, Ratio do them.

    Dapol Class 22

I bought this up back on page 33, post 815. No responce from Dapol, as far as I can see, just hope they sort it before the blue Westerns and D600s appear. It would be a real pain to have to respray every blue Dapol diesel.
  12. Interesting thread this of my local line. I have just come across a couple of usual pictures, not sure if there is mention of this in the Irwell Press book "An Illustrated History of the North Cornwall Railway" as I do not have the revised version. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16118167@N04/6405058219/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/16118167@N04/6405058679/in/photostream/

I understand what you are saying Pennine, but the Dapol blue, to my eye looks very different to any other rail blue that I accept as being ok, I run Hornby, Bachman, Lima, Heljan and my own Railmatch airbrushed models side by side and while I accept there are differences, they all look near enough the same colour to me, I am just interested what others think and maybe a little suprised that i have not seen this raised before if Dapol have been using this rail blue for their earlier models.

    Dapol Class 22

It seams to me a great shame that Dapol have gone their own way with the blue liveried models, there is a very green hue in their blue and it does not look good next to Hornby or Bachman stock. Is this the same rail blue they used on their N gauge models and the Stove R which they produced for Hornby Mag? I just hope they change to a better blue before the A1A Warships and Westerns appear. Its good to hear that the glazing comes out ok, although mine looks to be well glued, I have managed to remove the cab interiors to fit a crew. Has anyone managed to remove the sprung buffers yet.

I spoke to and ordered 1000a from Signal Box yesterday having previously ordered 1000f but missed out due to insufficient numbers to fulfil the orders. The guy I spoke to had no knowledge when they would be in stock. 1000f was still showing available for pre-order on their site as far as I could tell and I did mention this!
  16. I see Scale Link say 'retail only' on the Matador Models armered train range, although the warflat appears to be out of production. I did send a cheaque to Matador Models several mounths ago for one of their Warwells and have heard nothing, there seams to be no way of contacting them other than by post. The Genesis Warwell is no longer produced, I have made there Warflat, mostly soldered without too much trouble.
  17. Thanks for the replys Adrian and wagonman. These are as fitted The numbers on both my models is 1429 one is BR brown the other maroon livery, so one will need renumbering. Would this be better? The period I model is the early 60s so I guess the Siphon H would be on its last legs by then.
  18. Thanks 10800, I did try a search but it didn't like the single H for some reason (probably showing my computer illiteracy now) The first topic is quite useful, the second as you say is more siphon G and actually has some of my own posts and pictures on the second page.
  19. Does the Airfix/Hornby Sihon H have the correct bogies or should it have the American type 9 foot, or maybe they were changed in later life. If so which bogies did they finish up with?
  20. until

30th September is a Friday, I was told yesterday its on 1st Oct.
  21. Good pics Merf, how much does the FG need shortening by. I guess the best way to achieve this is to cut the back off and take a slice off, trouble is in so doing you would loose a bit of that nice printed ad on the side
  22. Looking good Bill,I will follow this with interest having always admired the pace at which you carry out your modeling, I've been building the same layout for 32 years now and still nowhere near finished, but maybe thats the way I like it. Geoff.
