  1. For weight you can use the weights that are fitted to car alloy wheels to balance them. They come in strips which have a self adhesive backing. Pull off the paper backing & stick the weight where needed.
  2. Check that the wheels are clean. Check the backs of the wheels are clean & make sure the pickups are touching the wheel backs. Is this the only loco you are having trouble with & do the stoppages occur on curves or straight track ?
  3. Pale blue / sky blue. Everything looks right against it.
  4. The NCE Power Cab will do everything you want. No bother or fuss. Just plug it in & away you go. You can get it at Hattons for £140. http://www.hattons.co.uk/60679/NCE_524_042_NCE_Power_Cab_2_Amp_DCC_controller/StockDetail.aspx Tony.
  5. Hi Dave. I don't know who you are dealing with but E mails bouncing back & your recent history with him are not good signs. If you paid by Credit Card or Paypal I would contact the Credit card company or PayPal & ask their advice on how to proceed. Regards. Tony.
  6. A big family or lots of friends because good feedback is often not what it looks like
  7. Digitrains & Dcc Concepts seem to have them in stock.
  8. Hi Alex. The first thing I would suggest is to check the back to back measurements of the wheels that derail. Don't know what gauge your friend models in but there are a selection here. https://www.dccconcepts.com/product-category/gauges-tools-and-fasteners/dccconcepts-gauges/ Tony.
  9. Any chance you could throw up a scan of it or email it to me please ? Tony.
  10. To be honest you have so little frogs that need switching I would go for Tortoise motors. Each has two switches built in. I have lots of them & have never had a failure.
  11. You can get an accessory switch which fits to the Peco point motor. They seem to be pretty reliable. https://www.peco-uk.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=0&P_ID=17646&strPageHistory=search&numSearchStartRecord=1
  12. How are you switching your points ?
  13. Hello. Does anyone have a function sheet for the sound decoder fitted to the following Class 20 please. 32-033DS Class 20 diesel D8158 in BR Green with center headcode boxes (DCC Sound on board) V3.5 Thanks Tony.
  14. I thought it might be a Hornby decoder as well. I have one here in a GWR Pannier which came DCC fitted a few years ago. I can write to it but can't read it using an NCE Power Cab. Tony.
  15. Tell your wife if she took some of hers out of the wardrobe they'd be room for yours I know you hate the sign of blood especially your own.
  16. Check do the motor bearings need lubrication.
  17. When you use a Power Cab with the SB5 the power cab is running as a Pro Cab. The SB5 is the command station so you are not running the command station part of the Power Cab.
  18. I agree Phil. It would be a great help to have this pointed out as its a very easy to make a mistake between the two power supplies. As you saw earlier I linked to the wrong power supply. I suppose it would be no harm to mention it to DCC Concepts as it might help others to avoid making a mistake. We've all done it Tony.
  19. Thanks for explaining it Nigel. This is the power supply which I should have linked to https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/power-supply-split-9v-dc-or-18v-dcc-for-dcc-systems/ That seems to be the one that Phil used. Tony.
  20. Thanks for that Nigel. The DCC Concepts PSU2 is 18volts @ 5 amps & DCC Concepts say they use that all the time for their NCE Power Cabs. https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/18v-dc-at-2a-uk-a-medical-grade-power-supply-for-dc-dcc-systems-2-5mm-dc-plug/ NCE say it should be 15volts @ 3 amps max so they both can't be right https://ncedcc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203935645-Adding-more-power-capacity-to-the-Power-Cab Personally I think 18 volts @ 5 amps is to much for a Power Cab. But I'm no expert so I bow to a higher power or should that be amps Tony.
  21. Sorry to hear that Phil. It was the amps that did it. Anything over 3 amps & the Power Cab will get too hot. It can probably be repaired. Tony.
  22. Hi Phil. Sorry to hear of your problem. Was it a regulated power supply & how many amps was it putting out ? Tony.
  23. There's a product called Rustins Metal Lacquer which might be useful to you.
