  1. Lots of things to hope get shrunk down eventually - the 158 especially. Farish are definitely having a quiet year!
  2. Keep the updates coming! It’s a stunning layout you have.
  3. I know nothing about the prototype, but love seeing more of this layout. It’s very inspiring to see such a consistent high standard applied to the stock and scenery.
  4. How far away is the Dutch version Dave - does it very much depend on the performance of this first early liveried batch?
  5. A nice little show as usual, shame it wasn’t busier but there you go. I had fun helping run Sutton Park DRS over the weekend.

    Dapol class 86

To fit the new decoder board maybe? Next18 is a bigger chip after all, and the PCB on older 86s is certainly squeezed in. Retool or not it’s a great to see continued development of this model, one of their best I think.

    Dapol class 86

Interesting they have retooled the chassis to be Next18 compatible instead of 6 pin...hopefully the sign of improved electrical innards on Dapol locos.
  8. I think the early ones are missing a handrail on the cab front (as per the real thing!) or have an extra one, removed on later batches. Something like that anyway!
  9. Managed to find a bit more time for some modelling today, so after fitting the detail bits and giving a this loco a grimy thin wash of enamels (mixed with a touch of weathering powder added) to bring out the details I cracked out the airbrush to give it the appearance of a hard working but not neglected loco. Model is Dapol’s lovely little Class 86 in Railfreight Distribution livery.
  10. Had the airbrush out today so gave this new arrival a does of grime on the underframe and roof. I’ve kept the sides relatively clean. Not a very glamorous subject but a characterful little model!

    N gauge Class 50

Quite a few had black roofs - even the ones painted grey! I’d be surprised if DCC supplies don’t commission 008 if Valiant goes well. I think these will fly.
  12. Great to see this one is still coming along, a cracking layout! Those MJAs look very nice indeed.
  13. They often terminate at Malvern too, rather than continuing to Ledbury and Hereford, this was a big problem a few years back! I was once involved in a sit in that forces the service to continue to Hereford, which was fun.
  14. Congratulations Jim. Maybe a ‘best of’ post would bring this amazing thread to an end when the time comes...saying that I look forward to ‘Down by the tracks woth GBRF’ already!
  15. Thanks for that - really useful! It might be worth trying HMC direct if you are after some - they still did very recently. They are slightly weathered, mine have had more weathering added by but are below;
  16. Hi everyone, I’m interested to find out more about the TTA wagons offered by Hereford Model Centre a while back - these are black with both BP and Shell branding. I’ve searched Paul Bartlett’s awesome site but have found myself lost amongst the various types of TTA tank and can’t see an example in that livery. I’ve also found little other information about them online. What sort of era would they have run with? I’ve a short rake I picked up mainly as I like them and HMC is my local shop - but am I right in assuming they are in a pre-tops 1960s livery, likely to be hauled by a green diesel?
  17. That’s a DBS job though isn’t in? Unless it’s changed.
  18. Oh yeah of course there is electrification work around Newport - all adding to the fun for you eh?! Thanks Jim as ever.
  19. Great photos as ever Jim. Where does the stone train originate from? That’s not a flow I realised went through Hereford.
  20. I’d guess 017 will lead the next train out, as I think they use a ‘stacking’ system on big possessions?
  21. There always something interesting popping up on this thread! Great work as always.
  22. Congratulations on following your families’ history Jim, and thank you for taking the time to post your photos of the modern railway at work. Cheers!
