  1. Neither.. its inside the "wind cap" Baz
  2. @009 micro modellerDon't try to do everything yourself.. ask other like minded modellers if they could help... Baz
  3. Her indoors has said it is, in her belief a "Zhaleika".. I believe her.. she knows a fair bit about wind instruments... and percussion.... Baz
  4. crums!!! A crumhorn.. or is it.. no Her Indoors says that it is a crumhorn.. I didn't know you get various shapes of crumhorn! Baz
  5. Stop wondering and get it organised! A fairly small band of very good individuals pulled together the NEC show for a number of years.. if they hadn't this thread wouldn't be here.. Time to stop wondering time to JDI. Baz
  6. Get Jesse to adk her to prepare something for my next visit... another chance for Baz to create havoc... Bas
  7. Bachmann still have a very poor A4 model. What would you do the Hornby oA3 as they have just changed that? Perhaps a Skittle Alley (A2) might be a better bet.. Baz
  8. Ey up! I have been told I have a "free" day today.so7nds great but.. Still got muddling to do for the show next week..and checking stock.. but no housework... New lenses make a major difference. As usual with varifocals it takes a while to get used to them. Later on I shall be cooking up some Pork Chops in a nice sauce for tea.. yummy! My phone and DSLR are rubbish for good photos.. mynold SLR gave much clearer pictures.. I may have to dig it out as I can get film and photos processed again apparently. Time to ... geronwithnotalot! Enjoy your day in any way you can! Baz
  9. Prestige? Satisfaction? It doesn't pay the rent .. why would anyone take on such an undertaking which would deflect them from their own shows? Finding a very large, cheap hall would be a starter for 10.. getting volunteers to organise it would be a potential problem, and to get the traders you want.. well it would have to be a very low cost affair. It's a huge risk putting on any show.. its even bigger organising a large, low cost risk free one. Baz
  10. Collected more of the stock for Chapel. I will mainly be weathering some O gauge wagons.. but anyone can fetch something to have a go at weathering.. I will have some try it pieces for anyone who wants to get into weathering as well. Baz
  11. A brief stroll around Gargrave followed by a nice lunch (fish pie) and a pint of Bllllaaaaaaaaccccck Sheep has been enjoyed. Watch8ng thr T20s from saffer land.. looks warmer there than here. Someone was complaining about no "late buses" in Leeds.. timetable reck9ns the last one from the city centre is 23:35.. seems she hasn't tried travelling by bus in Leeds since lockdown...doh! Time for tea! (We have regained our night buses (1:30am from town ) so It isn't a problem where we live!) Baz
  12. Ey up! Cracking the flags here (no frost overnight). Off to meet up with a friend in Gargrave later via the pie shop in Skipton. Seeing the guitars makes me wonder how @trisonic is? He had turned off notifications but hopefully he is still with us? Off to Pontecarlos next weekend.. I am demonstrating (against clean items seen running on 2 parallel strips of metal). My stock is ona representation of a nice place inI Derbyshire (Chapel en le Frith) so it should be a good weekend. Lots of cleaning wheels before then. @Smiffy2..hope you didn't watch the kickball last night. New manager must buy a proper goal Scorer.. it won't happen.. not a happy bunny! Hope everyone is improving or just keeping well. TTFN. Baz
  13. When I worked in Bradford there were still horse drawn rag and bone carts.. that was in the 1990s... Baz
  14. My mum and Dad were stewards at Blackhall Officials Club when I was young. They sold Vaux beers. The Scottish bit of Vaux (lorimer & Clarks) brewed an excellent beer.. "Best Scotch". The equivalent one brewed in Sunderland was not as good. When Vaux (and its Sheffield subsidiary "Wards" closed some of the Vaux employees formed a new business to brew and sell the Vaux "Double Maxim" brown ale... Baz
  15. Doesn't a new set of lenses make life so much easier?? Bas
  16. Hope she doesn't ever get to see this post Jesse.. could get very messy for you if she does! Bas
  17. Ey up! Her indo9rs is looking to swap her 11 year-old petrol jazz for an EV. Why? Very seldom does she go any big distances and has got used to driving our PHEV aka the Beast in electric only mode. More charge points are appearing around Britain.. why, even Bangalore Telecomare getting into it (converting old green switch notes no linger needed due to changes to fibre systems.). Speed wise I was very impressed with the Tesla.. of course it doesn't have smoking tyres.. isn't that the problem in Oz.. not macho enough? Today has some bits and bats tocomplete and I need tocheck a few emails..but otherwise..not a lot. I intend to go for a walk.. and try to ring my consultant who hasn't responded regarding my ECG pre Christmas. Pah!! Time to.. finish my tea and geronwithit! Stay safe! Positive thoughts to all but especially to the missing and ailing ERs. Baz PS did anyone spot that @Natalie was in 2hotos inthe Railway Toddler this month???
  18. He does use DCC.. Duette Command and Control. Cheaper to use CANBUS out of Peugeot cars.. its an open real standard.. but he doesn't need it here.. Bas
  19. Apologies for my none attendance this month.. bit busy with something at home... Baz
  20. There is one for Chall3mger 2 as well.. but its full of m8stakes.. Baz
  21. Ey up! Still no snow here....but very icy. I hope my new lenses appear soon.. its a PITA not being able to focus properly. Today willlbe.. not doing a lot day. 23. Ey up! A very, very light dusting of snow has appeared overnight... Today will start with some shark use, followed by floor swabbing on those floor areas not carpeted. After that.. a few emails then back to soldering iron wielding as part of the on going wire strangling. Good news for @New Haven Neil, hope your good lady gets positive news soon as well. @Smiffy2.. can you send me some positive thoughts to get the items I am trying to fettle at the moment fettled please? The sooner I get my new lenses the better.. difficult to focus on small items at the m9ment.. pah! To all ERs who gave ailments may you get them sorted ..pronto. to our missing ERs.. I hope you are well! TTFN Baz
