  1. Last Thursday I drove past the first school I played rugby union against. Luckily the game ended Henry Smiths U11s 10 Durham Johnston U11s 6.. Happy days! Dropped music, art and woodwork as soon as I could.. meant I did Russian, French and German along with Biology, chemistry, physics, English Lit, English Lang, Mathematics, geography and history.. would have been better not bothering with the Foreign languages (which I did return to later in life! Ears have been lowered, lunch has been eaten and a bit of walking about has been achieved. Crocuses, primroses, dafs and snow drops were spotted on my walk.. Baz
  2. What you need is... a Sprog. If it isn't twiching try a factory rest but I would just take it back Baz
  3. Ey up! Luckily for my fellow pupils I managed to getnoutbof woodwork classes after my first year at Senior School. Never did remember to check before cutting.. Luckily I have a good friend whon8s a woodwork genius... Today will involve cleaning some moss off window frames.. pah! Binmen have been.. and gone.. Daffs are not yet flowering.. crocuses are not yet flowering.. lotsbof bluebells coming through.. Hawthorn is just starting to bud... Time to drink me tea! TTFN! Baz
  4. Ey up! Not feeling too good at the moment.. but don't know why. Worst bit is.. I am off my food!! I will tempt myself with a bacon sarnie and see what happens next. The outcome of all of this is I won't get to the Ebor Group charity show in York today.. pah! Using search engines is very hit and miss. While I may use them to find hotels etc I will book direct if I can (you can get a better deal from some places). Time to go and prepare my "tempter! As it happens today is my last jab day. The NHS will not get any more Ozempic jabs this year so I start my new regime (a tablet a day no water or food for 30 minutes after taking it) during the week.. PAG! (Another side affect of brixit not mentioned by its supporters...) Stay safe! Baz
  5. N9 problem George.. I ho0ev6ou havevfoundvthebinfo. Baz
  6. Ey up! Busy few days revolving around cricket so this weekend will be mainly muddling. I had chich and fips last n8ght.. they fought back so was woken with tummy cramps.. now gone thankfully! Alas @Smiffy2 I fear the worst for long.. my welk mountain has been consumed.... The A1 last night was dreadful. Lots of white vans heading home from working away.. as for lorries.. could they be banned on Friday afternoons? Time to engage legs and gerronwithit, Stay safe and well! Baz
  7. As @LNER4479says these locos look good, have been put together well and run beautifully.. problem is.. its like going into a "sweetie" shop... Baz
  8. don't know about now but when Rolls Royce. Bentley and Cosworth were part of the Vickers PLC empire they were not happy with "copies" and had a very good legal team who could squeeze pips out of stone... To make a decent "copy" of a quality car does take time, expertise and money .. just like the real ones (in RR and Bentleys' case at least). Current owners of non copies would not be pleased either.. but.. a 1995 Bentley Mulsarne Turbo RL with17,360 miles on the clock and a FSH is up for sale currently on Ebay at £36,950.. its the less than 9 mpg you get if your floor it is a concern (but it does have heated rear seats and picnic tables included as "extras") Baz PS not interested as its not one of the Green ones with white interiors and red carpets!)
  9. Yes @Fishplate nice to see you! Baz
  10. Ey up! Lovely photos @jjb1970 Japan is on 5he places to visit lust...Once I can get back on a plane. Forget the diesel emissions.. its all that Adblue stuff we should worry about. It rots tarmac.. and is there to improve the car by removing the additives to get better performance from the diseasal.. Busy day.. cricket zoom then a trip to County Durham, prep for a presentation, deliver presentation.. sleep.. get up and drive back home tomorrow perhaps via a friends house in.. County Durham.. Then on Friday I need to pass on the thoughts of the Northern Region to the Lirds mafia.. I think they may not like what they hear but.. has to be said. I did do consultancy for an old employer.. Once.. it was a pia as they assumed I was still their full time employee. Time to get my breakfast and pack my bag. Stay safe! Have as good a day as you can! Positive thoughts to all but especially our ailing/missing ERs. Baz
  11. You have asked this question in 3 different threads. You may have missed that I has been answered in the other threads Baz
  12. Ey up! I don't do pancakes.. unless they have savoury fillings.... Shark wielding day.. pah! Got a bit of muddling time pencilled in for today. Great! But.. Still await my letter from the consultant.. and I am now being used as a Guinea pig to try out some new diabetes drugs.. so long as they work and don't have dreadful consequences that's fine by me! Time to .. release the shark! Baz
  13. well that was a meeting and a half.. Common sense is prevailing (or was it my size9s?) Now my plans for this week have gone west as I now have a Zoom meeting on Thursday morning before I leave to Durham.. PAH! Time for a coffee! Ba
  14. Had a look at these on Tony and Mo's stand at Doncaster. They are very well built and look the part. He has turned some Ks kits into beautiful models .. which speaks volumes for his skills! No good to me.. the BR/LMS ones will be of interest. Baz
  15. A surprise? Not.. rule 1 never pay a contractor for an untested vehicle in one big go. The vehicle is still not right and is far too large as a recce vehicle! as shown on a trial shown on TV Baz
  16. Ey up! I rang the consultants secretary at the LGI. My letter has been written and is waiting for a signature.. but.. no mention of meds.. so she has pinged the consultant to see what gives! Got lots of things to sort out today.. pah! None of it Is muddling related... PAH! In addition I have a Teams meeting on cricket matters this could be interesting...despite a large number of people saying "the proposal will not work.. unless.." the proposal has come back exactly as it was set out before.. would the real puppet master step forward?? Have as good a day as possible. Baz
  17. @georged lots 9f photos of the " Cumbrian" green blue set. An example is on page 6 of the RCTS "DMUs in Colour" published in 2023. That osnt the original, photo I used to provide the set for Shap. It is a dc kits unit with Cumbria fitted safety bars over the drp lights in the doors. There are a fair fewhotos of this pair. I have seen the photo used to provide the other set.. I didn't set that up so I don't have the photo although I was sent it to help work out what the coaches are. @LNER4479 generally has a book of "cuttings" from magazines with the layout at shows. Generally photos are shared across the build group who have 3nough knowledge of coaches and rolling stock to set up/make prototypical trains up for usebon the layout. Baz
  18. I wasn't given any documentation at all.. but how thevidea of having a large floorbplan on display at various points around the Hall.. as used at the NEC by Warley MRC? Yes Tony does do " fixing locos" and hascdobe for manybyears.. perhaps I shouldbof said "fixing dcc fitted locos"? It's a growing need.. BRM did try to emulate the area set up at the Warley Show for children to have a go at building plastic kits, basic scenery (including static grass etc. But that seems to die the death as it takes up space which is required to get more trade in to generate money to keep the show going. Baz
  19. Plymouth Friary (O gauge) and Chapel en le Frith (OO gauge ) will be operational plus Durham (N) plus demos. More soon.... Baz
  20. Yes, sound fitted dcc locos will issue sound of bits dc enabled.. engine sounds only though.. Baz
  21. TMC and some other traders did put on a very good stand display..but it shows which traders do it for a full time business (including one of the "smaller" traders 247 Developments). I do know my way around Donnie.. so I knew there was an upstairs... not everyone gets a map of what's were.. Upstairs was interesting but difficult to negotiate through. Specialist societies are ... well specialist.. unless you can point me to the scenery society or the fixing locos society, or the basic modelling society.. not sure how these areas (among others) can be covered by societies alone... Baz
  22. I was there operating Shap on Sunday. Mixed feelings about the show. Its very traders orientated with layouts sprinked around the hall. It does look like a swap meet with layouts. The rooms upstairs were not signposted very well (and never have been in the past). A reliance on specialist societies to provide demonstrations of bits of the hobby seems to be a standard thing with Warners Shows.. I suppose that is how it reduces costs but it doesn't really advance the hobby much. (Or is the "target audience" not seen as enthusiasts just "buyers". The layouts which were there were fine.. Once you could find them.. attendance was good .. anyone going next year I would suggest arriving at noon ish on Sunday.. Still plenty to see but easier to see it. Baz
  23. Ey up! AWOLyesterday as I was at Donnie for mostnof the day followed by Pizza for tea with Youngest Herbert and other family members. Must say Donnie looked like a swap meet.. I still have friends from Infant School.. a big village family!. I meet with ex Grammar School friends, and have meet ups with Uni mates and ex work mates.. must just be the way I am. @45156 I hope that your health issues are now over Stewart! Watched a bit of the Super Bowl. Shame the 49ers didn't win but such is life. Today involves not a lot b7t I may need to go to Barnsley to deliver an item which I have repaired. I need to prepare some slides for a meeting at Chester le Street later this week and do some reading prep for a Teams meeting (teams is useless.. it sort of works.. but doesn't..) Time to go and scrape the muck off and gerronwithit! Stay safe! Baz
  24. As usual Clive had a vast array of semi fin8shed Class40s at Donnie. The chassis will get another one nearer to completion. Great work Clive!
  25. Could be.. but it could be something similar... Baz
