If it was for me I would do it. There are some other syphons floating around to be weathered, one of which does have the correct bogies. You are right - they make a big difference!

Baz, very nice work. I am building a K70 de-streamlined (off and on between Gauge 0 projects) and found that the bend in the tender sides were incorrectly formed. After adjusting them as best I could the surface has become a bit uneven but this would not have been unusual due to coaling operations, etc. I note that Lichfield's tender has some "weathering" along the top edge of the tender - is this intentional or is it just the light?
Sorry Focalplane missed your question.. It is intentional, Stanier tenders picked up a lot of crud from the coaling stages - this shows up on some pictures of the locomotives. The amount varies.

despite promises from a number of modelling conflats of photos of lowfits with Containers no photos as yet apart from something in LNER days. The containers will be re-housed. One will end up inside a 13T steel medfit which did seem to happen on occasion.

It is good to try new eras every now and again. Hope the mojo gets really going.

ERM....maybe!

Thanks Jock.
I may get chance to weather some more of my stock at Warley next week.

I built and reviewed this kit many years ago. I finished it in BR lined maroon. The biggest problem (other than the bogies) was the gap between the body and the chassis due to the design of the kit. The designer did say it was a known problem. Shame because it was a nice body and chassis for a Pull and Push coach.
Looks well built and painted! Keep up the good work.

OOh err. I have another couple of Staniers as work in progress. Mix in a Bachmann Std 4MT, a repainted Hornby Dublo one and a DJH one - well it may be I don't need all of these...but they are nice.

Very good work

Step foward the latest Judith Edge kit!
-
don't forget to colour the wheels as they are a bit shiny - just use the same technique if you are happy with it.

Customer didn't want any crew, just wanted the locomotive delivered weathered

It was a popular loco in its day and I was surprised that no one has done a kit for one (yet!).
The split wheelbase looks great - could be used to build an ex NE long boilered loco.
-
It would be nice if Mike turned this into a Judith Edge kit as you are right - a fantastic model and a joy to weather.
-
Ta very much and they are Ratio kits on their way back to their way wner.
I should have checked my Bradford Barton wagons books as there are some details in there.

Thanks jock!
I don't know who built this. Its from a kit and has some very interesting for mpensation of both the loco and tender chassis.
Not seen many 2Ps about in my weathering told...this is only the second one! Which is surprising as they did last a long time.
Glad its brought good memories.
Best regards

Luckily I only have to weather them!
I have fitted new magnets to my Hornsby Dublo Duchesses and they can pull any train you could ever wish for.
The ones above have RG4s and a shed load of weight in them.
