Ordered a pair myself today, been working from home today and saw the announcement. Jumped onto the site at about 1.30pm and already a third had been sold!
-
Gonna need a much bigger stock box when taking the Deltic out with my layout to exhibitions!
Need to also make sure large enough for the 37's ordered as well!

Mine arrived safely today and very pleased. Will get the airbrush out at some point to weather as per the photo on Paul Bartlett's site.

Pleasure to meet you today @mudmagnet
Great to finally see Orchard Road TMD after spending years following the progress here on RMweb.
A beautifully detailed layout, could watch the locomotives trundle around all day!
Thank you for showing me a few of your 3D Printed models, I’ll be placing an order once my layout reaches that stage of detailing! They’ll make great additions to my workshop.
All the best
Luke

Are you back home yet Mr Magnet?
A big thank you for the chimney pots you printed for me. Much appreciated.
All back safely thanks!
You're very welcome @2ManySpams! I will sorting through a few other types this weekend and hope to add to my website next week.

@SouthernRegionSteam, many thanks Jamie for the photos and comments, very much appreciated. At long last you get to see the layout! I started this over 12 years ago, how time flies and add a few details occasionally. Always good when someone else takes a few photos as often find different views from those that I usually take.
Thanks for the comments re the 3D printed items. For those interested, please follow link in my signature below.
ps, my son took over operation for the afternoon, so had chance to wander / chat with fellow RMwebbers!

One for @mudmagnet
I have a pair of your Donelli PD350 track lifters and have seen on Facebook a 3d print you have done of the lifting beam to go with these, I would very much like to get hold of one if you have them available, also interested in the frames and box for Denflat wagons. I hope to be there on Sunday.
@bubbles2 thanks. I don't have any of the lifting beams at the moment, but if you remind me on Sunday, then will have a chat about these. If I get chance I will bring my prototype. I will also find the Denflat boxes.

I had a dream last night that Accurascale announced a class 50.
Crazy dream or a sign of things to come?
Cheers,

Heard rumours about a 50..... or wishful thinking ...

@2ManySpams Do you have a clearer picture and dimensions? I might get chance to draw one up in 3D and print for you.

After many months with no progress, it was about time that I made some progress. At least now the MERG DCC handset has been completed and been test running today. Taken all the wagons out of storage box and will look at getting some couplings fitted soon. Thoughts now turning to getting started on the buildings, but will need to do something about the backscene as not happy with this. Will require removal, sanding plywood smooth and applying a new one.

Excellent, and going to a good home. Expect to see a few class 56 running on this one in the future!

In preparation for next Orchard Road outing - RMWwb day in Taunton Sun 24th April, I thought that should dig out my two class 03's. These having not been run on the layout for a considerable time. Cleaned the wheels and test run back and forth many times, now happy enough with their running, so will bring these along on Sunday.

Myself and two friends went on Sunday, a fourth was due to go but struck down by some 'virus'. We went back to view the scene several times during the day as the level of detail and overall atmosphere was superb and the amount of work is staggering.
Generally large continuous run layouts don't do a great deal for me as often minimal trains running, however HLJ does not fall into this category. Yes there were periods waiting for a train or two to run past, but because of the quality of the modelling, this was not a concern and stood happily awaiting the arrival of the next train.
We have all seen other large layouts, but often built by an army of modellers, yet Simon has the enthusiasm, vision and skill to pull it off with an incredible result and should be applauded. Plus to undertake the considerable logistic planning for a three day show is truly remarkable.
Although, clearly the costs involved in transportation, venue hire etc are huge, I would certainly want to see HLJ again and would recommend that anyone interested in railway modelling and indeed railways in general get to see HLJ themselves.
There must be hundreds if not thousands of hours of videos taken by the visitors over three days, I certainly had almost an hours worth, it does not really translate into seeing the layout in the flesh.
The rest of the exhibition should not be overlooked either, as this was also very good.
Simon, once the 'dust settles' and you have had chance to take stock, you should be immensely proud of what you have achieved and the enjoyment that it has given to so many people.

Afternoon all,
Further to the above and in summary thereof.........
247 Developments- Cash/card.
L&B - Cash/card.
Bring and buy- cash/card. However there may be a small surcharge regarding card payments. Sure Aidan will confirm.
BGman Bazaar-cash. As CK alludes to, 50p and £1 coins preferred though obviously multiple purchases will allow use of folding readies.
Pasties/ Pies/cake/biscuits/tea/coffee/soft drinks- cash only. Prices will be set on the day by the special tactical catering intervention squad.
* Please try to bring your own mugs ( yes, I know......) along to reduce the amount of handling by the S.T.C.I.S. Normal size. No buckets.
Please correct me if any of the above is incorrect.
Rob.
I will also be bringing a selection of my 3D printed parts and will have a card reader. Old fashioned folding stuff (not that easy to fold anymore being plastic) also accepted.
