Fascinating read - many thanks for posting in such detail. :)

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Ajax50046 replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I guess what eBay shows is that the market for top end models is very strong and Accurascale could quite confidently put a significant markup on price regardless of manufacture costs. Not sure how I feel about seeing them selling for >£500 on eBay as no one’s being forced to buy them, but it seems remarkable how so many sellers state they ‘forgot’ they’d ordered them…yet there’s a reserve way higher than what Accurascale charged. Flagrant profiteering. Still, at least with eBay’s fees and postage costs you can take 20% off the selling price. I would have no complaints if Accurascale did another run of any of the models, especially 9016, so that people are more prepared to enjoy them rather than keep in the box, scared about devaluing something, which as it stands, is a collectors item. -

Dear Accurascale if you do D9000 in two tone green as per Virgin XC days then you can name your price and I will sell my car to fund it. I’m surprised no one has mentioned an Accurascale Exclusive of 55023 in L*** H*** yet -
Similar position to me...I would be eager to have some from a second run, if Hattons are following this thread :) . Absolutely loathed to pay the prices being commandeered on eBay - it does show the strength of the market I guess.

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale

My favourite part of the drivel was the critique of the couplers being pulled out of the socket before the maximum load was reached. How many coaches? Oh, just the 65 🙄 p.s. I am over the moon with 9016. It’s utterly superb. Thank you for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in 1:76. -

Did anyone else’s heart skip a beat this morning seeing an email from Accurascale…only to find it was about the PFA’s 😆 -

That would be great if you can. I didn't go for sound fitting 2 of the 3 of the Deltics I have pre-ordered, and am now regretting that decision (sold out so can't change). -
Good to see Gaugemaster have commissioned 86401 in its NSE livery. Scheduled Q4 2022...so perhaps alongside some more liveries! https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/news/article/view/id/664/

Class 37, by Accurascale
Ajax50046 replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Right, that's it. Every last one of my Bachmann 37's are going on eBay tonight. Wow. -
I’d love a dutch or dutch-transrail one. Even better if they could do it in their heavily weathered finish like the TEA’s :o)

Exactly like that! Looks great

D400 in 1991 blue...please!

Can the tyres be made any thicker? They just look a tad below scrappage size on the white-walled versions, which is not so noticeable on the non painted ones? Other than that they look wonderful to me and I will be having four. Five when you do D9000 in its 1996 version! -

A 31 that looks like a 31 would be magical. Think of all the livery variants! Here's hoping.- 183 replies

I'm sticking with DJM for some 92's. I've met Dave a couple of times at shows and he's a genuine, hardworking bloke, very skilled at what he does and has brought excellent models to the market at his own risk. He's not a billion-dollar corporation but a one man band who's added some real innovation to the UK market which the likes of Accurascale have followed, and are now putting his own livelihood at risk. I find it a bit disappointing that so many are willing to stick the knife in because a product of his is delayed or customer service isn't as polished as larger companies with specialist such departments. Model railways are a hobby and in the grand scheme of things in life, waiting 4 or 5 years for something when you've been promised it in 2 doesn't really matter. Unless you're Dave - who needs people like us to show faith and be patient or his whole livelihood and home goes. And as far as crowd-funding goes, these aren't life and death sums, but if they are for some modellers then I'd question why they took the risk in the first place. People have short memories - he has a good track record of delivering models to the market; the 71 is excellent, so is the J94... I really hope, for Dave's sake, the numbers still add up. If I lose a bit of money which I knew was a gamble, so be it.

Brilliant! Put me down for one! Would you consider doing weathered runs of Deltics too? -
New Kernow Hornby limited editions..

Couldnt agree more with this post. Quietly hoping for a while now that an Accurascale or other do a proper 31 and a variety of the popular colour schemes the 31's have had but never been modelled. i simply cannot believe the variants above wouldn't be popular sellers. -

This post has just tipped me over the edge of will I wont I replace my Bachmann models...Porterbrook Deltic now ordered Sounds truly excellent. -
I too was a bit concerned about the overhead range - so i made a point of chatting to PECO at Warley a month or two ago and the representative was adamant that they are still committed to both manufacturing and developing further items (specifically mentioned the 'gantry' type OLE structure). Hopefully this remains true.

Would certainly be on my wish list now that they've made a decent fist of it now. Hope there's some retailers reading....Kernow, Rails...

Wasn't there a ban on Lizzies double heading due to lack of visibility for the crew of the second loco? My late school teacher used to swear blind that he was on a big troop train during the war that was double-headed by two streamlined Duchesses. I really wish I'd gotten more detail out of him, and unfortunately i've never seen seen anything recorded on it in the archives either. It must've been some sight and sound climbing Shap!
