  1. According to RTT it can't have been 7 minutes: 1F27 (to Pompey) passed Tunnel Jnc 18:41:45 1F30 passed Tunnel Jnc 18:42:45. 1L53 passed Laverstock North Jnc 18:42:30, must've struck 1F30 all of 30 seconds later. Close shave with 1F27.
  2. What I find annoying is that you have to turn them on, they are off by default..is there a way to change this? So as soon as you put them on the track they come on? It's annoying because when you're using NCE equipment with MERG DCC circuit breakers, when there's a short it cuts out, resets and most stuff reverts to its default state, ie off.
  3. I've added a post and these pics to the Bachmann Mk2f thread but here's the same pics. Bachmann 2f RFB on left with Hornby 2e TSO on right.
  4. Thanks James, I'm glad you mentioned that difference in angle that I didn't notice before and now can't unsee ! :p
  5. Think someone in the Hornby Mk2 thread mentioned about a comparison between the Virgin stock - I've got one Bachmann RFB and 6 Hornby Mk2Es, the RFB doesn't look too out of place, but the interior lights are much brighter than the Hornby models. The Hornby model also suffers from bendy bogies and the coach is hardly straight itself! I will get a few more Bachmann ones in time and think about what to do with the Hornby 2Es, might just have two rakes and live with it!
  6. Picked up a couple of already hard to find DCC INTERCITY TSOs today (last two in the shop). Cracking models of course, which have the orange door lights. Trouble is, my INTERCITY RFB released in the first batch alongside the 'InterCity' models doesn't have the door lights, but I note the blue grey one (first batch) and Virgin one (latest batch) do have them. A predicament if trying to model an XC rake with door lights!
  7. Agreed good to see these are available to order now. Does anyone know if the Borail BRV and BRA Railfreight wagons worked out of Redbridge, Southampton? John Dedman has a shot of a LWR train which look similar, but as Redbridge was a rail processing plant I'm wondering if these were used on other trains which visited Redbridge, particularly in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
  8. Crikey, do you not have a wife and kids and house to pay for like the rest of us!? Lol, nice haul though. Hopefully they do it at Ally Pally, wouldn't mind another NSE HAP.
  9. Great progress Dave, but I'm surprised a man of your calibre hasn't got that lever frame moving with servos!!
  10. I found this on 3 of my wagons but all the springs were present in the boxes. They seemed to be 'stuck' in the box under some sort of static! Easy enough to refit, just do it carefully! Also, ages ago it was mentioned the sides can be taken off, which is certainly the case: If the greys of the main wagon body are the same you could have a mixed fleet and run early livery one side with later livery the other, or have a mix. But I'm not sure they are? Or at least supposed to be, isn't the grey on the early version supposed to be more silver?
  11. Think it's also pretty good for 37711? Aside from cantrail grilles? Here's my modified Bachmann model:
  12. Another train I'm looking to model is the Southampton Docks boat trains in the NSE era. I already own the NSE GUV, and a couple of Bachmann NSE Mk2a FKs, but these now go for more than the price of the Accurascale ones on eBay so happy to buy a few Mk2bs.... assuming they are good for the rake? Here's the pic, if someone can confirm the formation that would be awesome.
  13. Amazing, good to see my vote in the poll a couple of years back has helped get these produced. Will we see Royal Train BFKs you mention one day? Also, TSOTs in the West of England rakes - were they Mk2B or Mk2C? Definitely be getting a few Mk2B TSOs to compliment my WoE rakes.
  14. Agree on the tail lamp flash - it's annoying it's not correct (Accurascale did the same). It can be done with a small circuit running direct off the DCC track power: Having said that, did @Mooresbyturn it on and off by magic!? Now that is clever.
  15. True it is a nice grille, but it now highlights the lack of relief behind the grille in the engine room, at least before it was a bit deceptive
  16. Chipped my pair yesterday, am I right in thinking the side lights are tail lights not marker lights? In which case it's still wrong and the light guides need removing to stop them lighting up when going forwards. Still, issues aside the finish is impressive and I can't see the defects on 33008 unless I look closely.
  17. Do you know I didn't even spot that! Luckily they are so fine you can barely see it. I think it's a backwards step tbh, the previous batches looked more convincing.
  18. 33008 arrived (along with 33052) and unfortunately I've got some issues with it: My retailer says his remaining stock is all the same! So just wondering if this is across the batch or if other people have good copies? Apparently sold out at Gaugemaster now so he can't source any more stock.
  19. Thanks, I understand the situation and I am being patient, but I've had the "mailbox full" thing a few times now and it's a little frustrating when you can't even leave an answer phone message, sods law indeed! It says to me too many people have left messages not that the phone is engaged, so perhaps a capacity issue on the answer phone. I have tried again just now and got through ok
  20. Having trouble getting in contact with Phil regarding an order I'm waiting on, when I phone it says "Mailbox is full" and the phone won't even ring. @hayfielddo you have another means of contact or can you alert him to this issue? Thanks.
  21. No regrets with my 7 variants, especially ones picked up for under £100 and repaired to Good as New. As there seems to be absolutely nothing from Hattons on this project now I can only jump to the conclusion that it's going to be dead and buried so they can go back to stocking Bachmann in full. Hopefully I'm proven wrong as there's so many liveries to do and it's a great model, I live in hope we may hear something from them one day about a batch 2...?
  22. On the plus side 33008 looks pretty good to me - let's just hope the nameplates aren't oversized for any etched ones to cover them.
  23. https://www.constructionenquirer.com/2021/07/06/bidders-days-for-500m-midland-mainline-electrification/ Interesting.
  24. Kernow MRC reporting as having received their stock of 33s. Looking forward to getting 33008 and 33052.
  25. Yes but in the June progress update on this forum it says this: "Class 33/0 - new batch deco samples approved. Q4 2021 release" So is it July or Q4 ?
