I got similar problem. For ages the 4 pin decoders have been out of stock so once they were I brought 2 incase one popped. How does it run? Absolute crap. Stall, start to move, stall, moves a bit stall. Pushes it along by hand, starts to get to speed, stall. Change directon? Stalls 80% the time. Utter tripe. Wheels n track were cleaned pre conversion so it isn't them. I've put it back to standard DC where it actually DOES perform good for a wee 0-4-0. Hornby, what are you playing at? A novelty hard to get 4 pin is bad enough but when it runs this unreliably why even bother, couldn't you have designed things for extra room and a stay alive to be part of the chip? Maybe I and previous poster are just unlucky and others' are working fine, this sort of thing isn't uncommon. Got to find a workaround. Not fun.

Can print some S items here although some (at the moment) have to be Shapeways only as they have bigger printers. If interested though please send email at sparkshot082@gmail.com and can have a look. That said I recently brought a Elegoo Mars 2 along side the 2 Photons and it has a bit more print space. The big printer/s will have to wait until the top shed is renovated though. -- Must say I'm really looking forward to seeing some of those loco's completed.

What's happened to Shapeways? It's the cheapest I've seen it, like...ever. Good time to nab something, whether from my SCC outlet or an others. Unsure how long it'll last for though, likely the exchange rate adjustment.

I've for a while had 10 Hattons GNR coaches on pre-order. Selection of 1st, 2nd, 4 n 5 compartment n 2 brakes. 1 longer train or 2 smaller ones in various combinations. Will be repainting a small selection of them into a slight freelance variant. All light bar fitted. And er......that's it so far. Wallet is crying (will be). I got no discounts due to only being interested in 4 wheelers. Anoying but there you go.

Fair enough. I'll accept correction then. When you mentioned metal I was assuming a different coach as the ones I had were plastic; probably later editions.

You're forgetting Hornby's 3 compartment hyper short coaches. Hornby have been selling these in various liveries for decades. Totally toy like and unconvincing so the new ones from Hattons and Hornby are a great want filled.

I got mixed thoughts about it all. For literally decades a lot of modellers have been screaming for convincing RTR 4 wheelers (&6) and Hattons finally decides to. Then it seems as usual Hornby copy them. Yeah ok, the competition isn't wrong but it's damn anoying, especially when it is done so often. RoS Terrior, Hattons 66 etc etc. Also we can't be sure Hornby didn't start the project before Hattons yet it's pretty obvious what the likely truth is. Maybe Hornby could have gone for the accurate rather than generic to have a USP on them. Maybe they could have made some that are more distinctly different. Other than the full brake coaches they look to be mostly copies. Ah well. I'll be sticking with my Hattons pre-order, not going to cancel for a wee undercut. Lately Hornby are showing themselves to seem overly dirty here. Isn't like it's a rare move is it? Again, not wrong as such, just anoying with the frequency. If the Hornby ones are still available in a few years at similar prices might pick a few up. The markit will decide collectively which win out I guess.

The diagonal line in the 4 wagons I've designed ALWAYS turns out on one side. I've tried every orientation under the sun and it's futile. Is why currently they are a Shapeways only item.
