  1. Many thanks Nick - that's a very useful website, full of lots of goodies that we modellers can use...
  2. Looks grand - Where's the steel obtained from?
  3. Trying not to hi-jack Jims thread here... but are the HEA's unloaded at Mossend?
  4. Excellent pictures and information as always Jim! Do you know what the VGA and HEA's are carrying?
  5. Great work as always! When weathering the wheel sets, do you ever clean off the treads or do they wear off after a few hours running?
  6. Phil, I've only just discovered your excellent thread and I'd like to add my thanks to you for posting these photos. A quick question - when did Rose Grove stop stabling diesels?
  7. Thanks for all the photos of these operations. Just as an aside, are there many passengers using the service?
  8. Thanks for the information on the docks siding Ray and Vin.
  9. Thanks very much for posting these photo's Ray. Where does the gated siding on the right lead to?
  10. Thanks for more excellent photo's Dave! In the Dolwyddelan photo C5725, is that a Hudson Hunslet on the platform?
  11. These look very good John - many thanks for posting photos of your work.
  12. More excellent photo's. I'm intrigued by the picture of 'Wester Teamish Industrial Estate' J3897 - do you know what traffic was handled there?
  13. Brilliant photo's as always Dave - many thanks for keeping posting them!
  14. Edwin, I suggest you read my original post before criticising my "unjustified accusation" I was referring to my OWN actual experience in the real World - not some 'discussions' with transport planners. Thanks Oakeydoke for pointing this out to Edwin in your post.
  15. I won't bore you with the details (unless anyone actually wants them...) but, In my case, this statement is completely untrue.
  16. Just found this topic Jon - looks very good to me! Have you any pictures of the finished model?
  17. Just to add my thanks for posting the details of this excellent N layout - great work. Please keep the updates coming!
  18. Hi Nick - hope you don't mind all the likes... I've only just discovered your fascinating thread and I have been so impressed with your excellent weathering. I had to show my appreciation in some way I'm especially impressed with your bogie log wagons. Several years ago (pre Bachmann model) I made several Ex VDA OTA wagons from old Hornby VDA's. I made simulated softwood log loads from some old oriental blinds and used Trimline for the strapping. It used to take me ages just to load one wagon. You have my sympathies... Thanks again for sharing all your good work with the forum.
  19. Thanks for the replies gents. Sorry if I didn't make it clear Paul - The question was: did the Thames Board livery change from blue to green? Pugsley - who was/are BPB?
  20. I'm after some clarification as to the livery applied to several OTA timber wagons in the 1980's. I'm referring to the (exclusively??)ex OCA conversions that carried 'Thames Board' livery on round wood traffic from Scotland to Workington and various other locations on Speedlink services. My own photos of the 'Thames Board' livery adorning these OTA's is a dark-ish blue. Various books in my possession also show photos of these ex OCA OTA's in blue , but some are pictured finished in a pale green colour that is also described as 'Thames Board' livery, or 'faded Thames Board' livery. A mate of mine maintains that this green livery was connected with the Forestry Commission (or whatever they were called back then). Did the 'Thames Board' livery change from blue to green, or was it simply the blue fading over time to this pale green colour? Thanks for any help. PS: I realise many ex VDA OTA's were finished in blue for 'Kronospan' traffic to Chirk and the unique ex VDA OTA (with big stantions) was finished in 'Forest Enterprise' green.
  21. Thanks Gents, I'll track one down on Amazon. Cheers John.
  22. Just wondered if anyone knows of a source for a 4mm scale drawing for PRA china clay wagons? Thanks for any help.
