  1. In Tom Noble's excellent 'Diesels On The Regions - Scottish Region' there's a photo of a 37 with a single VAA or VBA captioned thus - "37081 arrives at Crianlarich on 23rd August 1982 with mail from Fort William, for transfer on to the 17.58 Oban to Glasgow train. The locomotive and van will return to Fort William, uplifting any traffic that may be lying at Crianlarich. This arrangement followed the suspension of the 15.20 Corpach to Mossend and the corresponding 13.38 Mossend to Corpach trains."
  2. These are brilliant shots - thanks for posting! As they're taken from an elevated position they show some great prototype details that are not usually seen in 'ground level' pictures. Keep up the good work.

  15. Eggesford Box - thanks for the photos at Pontrilas. Is the siding adjacent to the box the one EWS used for timber traffic to Pontrilas Timber in 'Enterprise' days?
  16. More great photos Jeff - keep them coming! I remember going to Norwich in the mid 70's. We were told you'd never 'get round' so we walked around the shed and yard and then asked for permission. The Foreman told us to 'go away' in no uncertain terms...
  17. More great photos Jeff! Just out of interest, did you get round all of those Depots/SP's without any problems?
  18. Thanks to all the contributors on this very interesting topic. Slightly OT but apart from the pic in post #50 has anyone any more photos of Spekeland Road Freight Depot? I'm particularly interested in the late 70's into 1980's period. Many thanks,
