  1. . One of the versions is "Heljan 1420 Class 14 Train pack with D9553 in BR green and four 'Dogfish' wagons in BR black". I'm not interested in the Class 14, but would like some more "Dogfish" wagons - any chance of them being released separately ? .
  2. . " The 12:00 terminating at this station is running late ...."
  3. . Errrrrrr . . . . . Yes, they are. They move themselves - they are "locomotive". .
  4. . When will the range of track be expanded to include OHE and third rail options ? 🤣 🤣 🤣 ( See below at my signature bar for just a few options for OO locos. ) .
  5. . Still no Southern Region announced - so no need for me to think about joining in - I hope they will still be offering the discounts by the time the SR ones are announced. The past few posts have raised, with me, the issue of things like separate fixed handrails, etc... I would like to see some "real" models before ordering. .
  6. . Having thought about it for a couple of hours I can't say I have changed my poor impression of the launch. They are, obviously, keeping the prices down. I think they should have gone for ballasted track (see, for instance, Roco track) and all locos only available as DCC versions (preferably all with sound). Yes, more expensive, but "the future" - as near authentic "plug and play" as we are likely to get. Also, the launch lacked close-up photos/videos of what could be achieved scenically. Still, I can still see the attractions for families living in small homes. .
  7. . Nothing Southern Region ! Very disappointing. I will leave any sensible comment until I see how the smaller tank engines work on the track. SK made such a thing of small layouts, even along window sills (!) means that tank engines will be important. Good luck to Hornby, but I will wait. P.S. SK seems to think that Hornby will run out of new OO subjects in the next 7 years, or so ! I have lots of suggestions just from the Southern. Sad to see such an attitude. .
  8. . I know that the loco has "charisma" (of sorts) but I am surprised that if KR are doing a 10-coupled loco that they didn't choose a WD 2-10-0, only 10 of them but more widely travelled. ( Still, maybe that is what Hornby will announce tomorrow ! 😁 ) .
  9. . How about a set of 3, or 4 BR standard 16 ton mineral wagons, at least two two differently numbered sets for at least the two main liveries, BR Grey and BR Bauxite (also pre- and post TOPS). So many needed for every layout from the 50-ies to 80-ies. .
  10. . Most non-collectors must have found them acceptable as I have not seen any 6-wheelers appearing on E-Bay (or similar) .
  11. . Excellent ! Three liveries - black, red and green. sensational. Will they be UK releases, or USA only and imported ? .
  12. . Well, IF Hornby are favouring non-competitor shops why did I receive this e-mail today ? " .... Thank you for your order for R30112 * Hornby Dublo: BR Merchant Navy 35026 Lamport Holt As you may be aware, Hornby have struggled to fulfil pre-orders this year, despite having given us an initial allocation to sell. This will be the third time that our allocation for these models has been reduced this year, despite being a Tier 1 retailer. I am very sorry that the latest allocation means that we are unable to fulfil your order and we have had to cancel this. You may not be surprised to learn there is a good chance you will still be able to place a new order direct with Hornby for this model. I hope you can understand that this is outside of our control, I can only apologise again for this. Many thanks Sammy Kernow Model Rail Centre ... Guess what, I ordered one direct from Hornby. .
  13. . I don't suppose that you could update you list with the approximate dates that each livery / version is appropriate for ? It would be helpful for we who have limited referenced available.) Thank-you. ( That also applies for the Train Times Model Shop 2 versions. ) .
  14. . Yes, but you forgot the 4-CORs, or 4-SUBs, and some pre-grouping 4-4-0s Always room for some more "Southern" locos. .
  15. . (New topic title) https://www.fourdees.co.uk/kits .
  16. . Any possibility that this will happen ? .
  17. . Thanks very much Graham, an absolutely fascinating article which brings up many, many questions, e.g. did any other loco have such a long withdrawal period as 53 years (1908 through until 1961) ! I'm afraid that Rapido have another winner on their hands .
  18. . It seems odd that the initial CADs showed the Driving carriage "fish belly" and where the window curves started - see Graham Muz's post on 13th May ( ONLY 5 weeks ago !!! ) ; It seems that the mould manufacturer ignored the CADs ( ????? ). .
  19. . I assume ( ??? ) that the S& T Dept also looked after the often overlooked on layouts telegraph poles (?) .
  20. . I'm very pleased that this project is still chugging away in the background - I look forward to delivery time. Looks nice, as well as producing a useful engine. By the way, I would remind Rapido (and any other manufacturers) that there is an LSWR T3 recreation project due to complete next year, which gives rise to more LSWR colourful liveried models. See Steam Railways / Graham Muz's tweets ; .
  21. . And 10's of versions of the BR Standard 16 ton mineral wagon. .
  22. . Good luck to Accurascale, but I will wait for the "long" ( 63’ 5” ) versions for the Southern Region versions. .
  23. . The obvious ones are three-sets of the standard BR 16-ton mineral wagons with lots of different numbers and variations. For a coach, I would go with the BR "short" standard suburbans (lots of liveries, relatively long lives, useful for branch work). For a locomotive, anything from my "signature bar" - but talking to someone recently we noted that the Bachmann N-class really is in need of an update, so that, OR an L1, OR an E1, all really useful engines. ( I really want a 4-COR, but ... ) .
