  2. I wonder how many people would admit to living in Uranus?
  3. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Would you like to live in this house? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-kent-51635511 Walls, floors and ceilings covered with doodles, even the furniture and kitchen fittings (they didn't show the bathroom). Even the guy's clothing was covered in doodles.
  4. Evening all from Estuary-Land. I was about to write this an hour ago but while I was upstairs I decided to lay on the bed for a couple of minutes. Arthur Itis is very quiet at the moment and I hope he stays that way. Now to catch up on Farcebook.
  5. Prior to the mid thirties when Hitler started annexing the central European states (Austria, Czechoslovakia etc. Those countries that were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire all drove on the left.
  6. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Been sorting out some items that run on parallel metal strips, one is in pieces which someone has offered to put back together for me. My maternal grandmother only discovered that she was a year older than she thought she was when it was time to receive her state pension. How it happened was a mystery until we discovered her baptismal certificate which showed she was baptised on her first birthday.
  7. Morning all from Estuary-Land. A few tweaks from Arthur Itis this morning but a brace of Nurofen sent him packing. Not much to do today, or that I can do.
  8. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Arthur Itis is making himself obvious so more Nurofen is about to be taken. No surprise really as I've been on my feet for much of the day. I'm not bothering with Farcebook this evening, just a quick look in.
  9. Bohemian Rhapsody by Flash Mob.
  10. This one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UsbhZPGfGk
  11. It appears that for some reason the third ventilator and door from the right has been moved to the left to make way for the grill visible in the photograph.
  12. Another take on Bohemian Rhapsody (piano/violin duet + string quartet).
  13. You can get battery operated LED fairy lights and once C********s is over the LED's can be put to good use on the layout.
  14. There are a few Essex dialect words that are of Scandinavian origin still in use but rapidly going out of use. One such word is 'wantz'. Meaning a place were several lanes meet and it still exists in some place names such as 'Five Wantz Ends' (Chelmsford) and 'Wantz Corner' (Dagenham). There are some 'English' foods that originate from Scandinavia. The Bakewell pudding (not tart*) for example. It was common fare in Eastern England and about two hundred years ago an innkeepers wife in Bakewell became renowned for making them so they became Bakewell puddings. *The Bakewell tart was a derivative 'invented' in the late Victorian period.
  15. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had an enjoyable morning at the Southend mini show, then went shopping in Tess Coes and that bought Arthur Itis out in protest but a couple of Nurofen settled him. Thats an interesting take on Bohemian Rhapsody Stewart, here's an orchestral version, I found it when looking for a string quartet version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCFnzSCzoYA
  16. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Quite bright this morning but wet everywhere. There's even more mushrooms sprouting up, not sure of the species so I won't be touching them. Going to Southend shortly so its bye for now.
