  1. I bet that made his eyes water.
  2. They can't have had any sense of smell, the stuff stinks terribly.
  3. Poo tins people have sunk to a new low. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/vladimir-putins-russian-troops-booby-27456186
  4. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had a few spots of rain about three quarters of an hour ago but it evaporated as soon as it touched the ground. I think I heard some (very) distant thunder a few minutes ago. That depends on the direction the rain is coming from. If from the south west the North Downs get the rain and we stay dry.
  5. Actually its a very good beer but you get drunk very quick on it.
  6. My father fought the Japanese and avoided Japanese products for the rest of his life. He would gladly talk of some of his war experiences but others were a closed book.
  7. Your just sending the JW's and Mormons to the place they most want to be so whats wrong with that? And as for double glazing salesmen and travellers you can put it down to pest control.
  8. Morning all from Estuary-Land. First thoughts are with Dave today and hope that all goes well. I think I've found a solution to the bamboo problem. I have an old metal pedal bin with a busted lid mechanism. The inner container is still used to hold the pink sack. What is left is basically a stainless steel metal tube approx. 80 cm long and 20 cm diameter. All I have to do is remove the lid and mechanism (its open at the bottom) bury it with the top about 5 cm above the ground and plant the bamboo in that. The only drawback is that the hole will have to be dug first but not in this heat.
  9. The place I intend to put it is a small raised brick built planter and on the label it said none-invasive variety.
  10. Evening all from Estuary-Land. No sign of the foxes today, perhaps they've found somewhere cooler to hide. When I was in Tess Coes I see among the plants for sale was a bamboo, I'm considering buying one but not with the present hot weather as transplanting it with the ground as dry as it is will probably kill it.
  11. Someone has suggested a model would make a great track cleaning wagon.
  12. I have suggested to NUI models that they could produce a model. Handbrake only AFAIK but it was numbered as coaching stock by the LT&SR and carried coaching stock livery. Also it was fitted with screw couplings. It might have been through piped to run with continuous braked stock.
  13. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Still a sweltering 25 degrees and the hay fever has kicked in. I'd forgotten about the fan so thats now on. Surprisingly its not using as much power as I thought it would. Now for (another) cold drink.
  14. Found this on the same site, I've now got something in my eye. https://iheartdogs.com/jun22newsmandogshelterstory/?iid=SidebarPopularPosts
  15. The sciatica pain has now eased somewhat but I do get the odd twinge so I have to be careful. The outside temperature outside is now 26C according to the thingy at the bottom of my screen. Now time for a muggatee.
  16. Those Lego blocks make a perfect right angle as well.
  17. The picture frame that I use is quite old. It has a wood surround and a hardboard backing and the glass is perfectly flat. Only problem is that it is only about 6" X 4", I could sometimes do with something a bit bigger
  18. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Things were going swimmingly this morning until I bent down to put my slippers on and Si Attica jumped in, Nurofen has been deployed. This came up in my in-box this morning. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/trans-pride-london-march-b2119605.html @chrisf might know a few of those mentioned.
