I LOVE MY BRICK -

1 week to go until a 90mph dash with Bittern, new GPS was acquired today for the occasion!
-
10 days to go until the next Wolsztyn visit, been almost a year since I last brandished a shovel in anger or had cause to throw a regulator about.
-
20 years ago today the world lost Senna, and Ratzenberger the day before.
-
3 Stunning A4's and a rather woebegone A3 in one afternoon - marvellous!
-
47 years ago to almost the minute, 45318 was charging down Aughton Bank at nearly 80 mph, straight into the history books. The end of a glorious era indeed.
-
50 years ago today SS BRITISH CROWN exploded and sank in Umm Said with the loss of 19 men.Old BP men never forget.
-
56 hours to get from Oban to Aberdeen. New record!
-
6 years on from release I've finally caved in and bought a couple of "Tommys". Not sure how they'll fit on an ScR layout mind....

70 years ago today, lest we forget. http://tinyurl.com/kmlmc3o

A fine warm afternoon in the Sunny North. Time for some "3 before 8" and a beer...
-
A1 and a Lord Nelson last week and an A4 to enjoy on Sunday. Still incredible to think we can enjoy such sights in 2015.
-
Aboard a six car 158. Don't recall seeing one of these since the Turbocrappers were inflicted on is circa 2000.

About to order my D11, but the question is whether to also 'shove duff' or not to shove duff? Decisions....
-
About to tuck into a full English courtesy of East Coast - first time in some years we;ve had proper catering ex Aberdeen!

After being a member for almost 2 years I've only just found the "View New Content" option! Oh dear... Still, makes reading RMweb easier!

After initial experimentation with a Bach/Far starter set, the concept of running scale length expresses on an area no larger than the dining room table is gaining enthusiasm. This N gauge lark could prove addictive.

Not too bad, but at the moment my only stock is bogie coaches. Four wheel wagons may prove more of a challenge. I've a Farish A2, some stock and more track in the post and a baseboard will hopefully follow shortly. I'm looking at 6 x 3' with perhaps an extension to 8' if space presents itself. With a board of that size I can have a good run of track (roundy/roundy) and more than adequate siding space.

I think the attraction is the fact that you can have scale length trains and have a layout that looks more like the real railway. And coaches and diesels are really good quality. When I look at the pictures of the steam engines though i have questions. To be fair I think they look better in the flesh so to speak though.

After literally years of searching I've finally got my hands on an NB Models J37 kit.
-
After much abuse about the current model, the opportunity has presented itself and the question is: to go to iphone or not to go to iphone?
-
After watching the latest Deutschland '83, I can't help but listen to Two Tribes with max volume. Still as great as it ever was!
-
Ah well, hopes of some real Scottish prototypes dashed again. Always next year I suppose, although I've lost count of how many years I've been saying that.
-
All WHL trains cancelled tomorrow in their entirety, First aren't even pretending to adopt a wait and see policy, and no replacement buses either. How nice of them.
-
Am I alone in feeling that individuals who quote in any fashion that damn meerkat advert should be shot on sight?
-
Am looking forward to hearing an A4 chime whistle screech at 90mph tomorrow, weather permitting!
-
Am sure I saw a FGW HST set in Aberdeen carriage sidings this morning, was I seeing things?
