  2. 56095 used to be everywhere, it seamed to follow me like a dog on a lead
  3. A modern livery for me on 90029, it was bought as a Hattons bargain and might get a body swap if there is a cheep 90 on Ebay in speedlink distribution, early parcels, or mainline livery.
  4. 37284 hauling a small train of ballast
  5. Both the 31`s are DCC, 31256 is the Hornby railroad model, 31541 is the Hornby railroad chassis with a Lima body. The Pacer is from 1988 / 89 and was a birthday present.
  6. The second crane arrived earlier in the week, one will keep the claw grabber, the other will keep the electro-magnet. I don`t know weather to give them nicknames or not they are going to be for the new layout when I get chance to make it ( http://www.metaley.co.uk )

  8. an alternative plan is to have curves at the end of the platforms
  9. Whilst enjoying building Carr Crofts my mind has started to wander again for a new layout so I am going to build Metaley which is going to be a scrap metal / recycling yard. so far it is at the very early planning stage, the location is somewhere in Yorkshire, and will have the yard, and station and possibly overhead 25kv wires. I will be using stock from Carr Crofts, with some new additions too if the OHLE goes ahead. The length of the planned layout is 12 foot but maybe extended to 14 foot having a longer station platform. Comments etc are more than welcome.
  10. The latest purchase is a Hornby Bagnall shunting locomotive that will be used on the new Metaley layout when built www.metaley.co.uk The shunting locomotives for Metaley
  11. 47209 Herbert Austin running a few speedlink services
  12. I have just bought a pack of scrap from a company called Goodwood scenics http://www.goodwoodscenics.co.uk/ Which seamed good value for money for me, the pack was wood rather than Plastic with some additional metal bits, I noticed that they did coal too http://www.goodwoodscenics.co.uk/coal it may work out more economical than the parkside loads ( unless it ends up on the floor / in a vacuum cleaner ). 13. The new crane arrived this morning it comes with a claw grabber and magnetic grabber, when I make the new layout "Metaley" it will be a feature on the layout but for the time being its going to sit on Carr Crofts layout ( new site is http://www.metaley.co.uk ). The third picture has a wheel set under the magnet

It does have a look of Bradford or Halifax to me, the parcel bay definitely adds more to the layout without a overly cluttered / crammed in look and is very interesting Simon

  20. Hi, I am not understanding what your meaning, The hopper does not change grain to powder ( flour etc ) It would load grain from a farm into a wagon for going to a mill or a factory where the grain is made into flour. The hopper would load the wagon http://www.hattons.co.uk/182284/Bachmann_Branchline_38_602A_21T_grain_hopper_B885045_in_BR_late_bauxite_heavily_weathered/StockDetail.aspx
