  1. These look excellent Pete. What else have you got planned? Anything EE? Al.
  2. Are you sure its black and not blue? https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/15680470377 I just wonder if its the angle and the light makes it look black? Al
  3. Thanks for all the info guys. Steve, if you can find the pictures of the Tyseley ones that would be great, I had forgotten about them, passed them a number of times on my trips to Solihull for physio a a couple of years ago. Jacob, if you can get phots of the other side of the position of the name & number that would be great. Looks like CLAN FRASER will be one of my spare TSO's. Not bothered about the interiors, I'll not be going that far with them, just re-name/numbering! If anyone can find any picture of the third brake, BRAHAN SEER, that could be useful. Al.
  4. Hence I've tried my luck here!! That's the list of names of the set of Fox Transfers I have here. Lee (blueeighties on here) has done Hebredian for me last year and I've got all the Bachmann issue plus 2 extra TSO's to re-name, also got an option on another BSO, but we'll see.
  5. After some pictures of some of the Highland Rail Green & Cream MK2's, particularly the ones not done by Bachmann for positioning of names etc. I've managed to acquire two spare TSO's. The list I have is: BAILECHAUL 9388 BSO Bachmann (Highlander) BALMACARA 9385 BSO Bachmann (MR) BRAHAN SEER 9414 BSO CAPERCAILZIE 5212 TSO Bachmann (MR) CLAN DONALD 5191 TSO CLAN FRASER 5154 TSO CLAN MACINTOSH 5234 TSO(T) CLAN MACKENZIE 5166 TSO Bachmann (MR) CLAN MCLEOD 5293 TSO Bachmann (Highlander) CLAN MUNRO 5132 TSO CLAN ROSS 5139 TSO CORRIEMOILLIE 5230 TSO(T) Bachmann (MR) HEBREDIAN 6300 DMU I'm pretty sure at least one of the TSO's above is a TSO(T) as well. Any pictures or formation info greatly recieved. Cheers, Al Edited to correct a number error and alter a TSO to TSO(T).
  6. Mick Parker of the class 37 group has been working on recording all the loco's which worked the Inverness/Aberdeen Sleepers between 92' & 95' with Steve Marshell of Globe Video Films. Info here: http://www.c37lg.co.uk/sum92.aspx http://www.c37lg.co.uk/win92_93.aspx http://www.c37lg.co.uk/sum93.aspx http://www.c37lg.co.uk/win93_94.aspx http://www.c37lg.co.uk/sum94.aspx http://www.c37lg.co.uk/win94_95.aspx Hope this is of help to some, there are still some gaps if anyone can fill them. Al.
  7. Think I'll be following this with some interest, i have been thinking about a circular layout for some time. Would I be right in assuming that the boards are 84" (7') from edge to edge? that would be just about my limit for a circular board. Al
  8. The minefield that is EE Class 37's!!!! Regarding the Snatching between 37/0 & 37/5 (or infact a /0 with any refurbished 37) has nothing to do with ballast weights (not that 37/5's had any, it was only /7's &/9's) i'm pretty sure its to do with the generator/alternator and the field diverts (effectively changing gear), I am pretty sure that /0's divert at a slightly different speed to a refurb hence the snatching. Also if a /0 overloads it will cause snatching which is worse when in a pair as the other loco is still powering. I have been researching the IC 37's for a while for a future project so some of my observations: 37152 - Cast (believe ex deltic) bogies, IC stripes go through the bodyside grills. Black bufferbeam. Snow Ploughs. No Intercity branding. 37221 - Round buffers, IC stripes do not go through the grills, Black bufferbeam. Snowploughs. 37251 - Retained Frost Grills. IC stripes do not go through the grills. Red bufferbeam. Snowploughs. Named 'The Northern Lights'. 37505 - IC Stripes go through the bodyside grills. Black bufferbeam. Snowploughs. 37510 - IC Stripes go through the bodyside grills. Black bufferbeam. Snowploughs. 37683 - RSH grills. IC Stripes go through the bodyside grills. Black bufferbeam. Snowploughs. 37685 - IC Stripes go through the bodyside grills. Black bufferbeam. Snowploughs. Did have red bufferbeams but may have only been after the sleepers finished. I know two had white roofs for a period, I'm pretty sure it was 152 & 251 for working the land cruise. There is probably more I have missed!! Many other loco's appeared on the sleeper turns including /7's in a myriad of liveries, the most notable is probably 116 which at the time was still Large Logo Blue with Skirts. There will be many more but some of the liveries/loco's i know appeared: Dutch - 066/071/087/099/133/170 (I am sure there were many more) Construction - 214 RfD - 113 Coal - 692/693 Metals - 078/100 Petrolium - 080 LL Blue - 116/209 Cheers, Al.
  9. O Gauge 26 is looking good Lee, wish I could have afforded to have my 001/007 in O gauge, but alas i'll have to stick to OO for now!
  10. If only Time machines actually existed! This shot of 004 is stunning, will hopefully run again one day.
  11. A selection of Dutch 37's on passenger work I scanned the other night: 37258 & 37142 06.43 EXD-RDG 13/08/94 at Exeter. 37258 & 37142 06.43 EXD-RDG 13/08/94 at Reading. 37142 & 37258 on the ECS off the 06.43 EXD-RDG 13/08/94 at Didcot. The pair of 37's above had dragged the Tram from Laira to Exeter ECS then worked ECS from Reading to St Phillips Marsh. 37141 at Weymouth about to work to Bristol. 37230 at Cardiff after working from Bristol. I've got the details of the last two pictures, just not to hand!
  12. Obvious one for me, 075 as I spent 10 years helping look after it! Fond memories of 025 both on the Kyle line and towards the end Dragging HST's over the Devon banks. Though rather than specific engines, any tractor over the Devon banks, but not on Charters, would have to be last minute rescues! Al
  13. Had an email last night saying mine has been dispatched. Now to get the other 4 coaches out and wait for the Observation saloon to arrive!!!!
  14. Has anyone seen any news on the Highlander set with the LL 37 & Highland Rail MK2's? Edited because I found my answer! Now due Oct/Nov if anyone else is interested.
  15. 26's looking good Lee. I'm going to have to pull my finger out and sort the chassis out!!
  16. As always superb photos. I do enjoy seeing whats been working around the Waverley timewarp!! Al.
  17. Really shouldn't double post but..... This was my original attempt at the Observation Saloon, no-where near your standard Lee, was bodged from a Blue/Grey body and a center car underframe, I'll soon be able to run both periods just swapping the bodies unless I find a cheap center car somewhere! Cheers, Al
  18. Scottish theme is always good, rather liking 37183!!
  19. I'll try an post a picture, first night my mate drove, second night i drove...........
  20. Indeed, trains & Beer cant fault it. I did one night drive a 37 to Consall, park it on the Crossing, eat my dinner then driver back to chedd!!

Marstons tied house, good food when served. Black Lion Consall - pretty much a free house, choice of Ales & Ciders always a good do! Good pub Grub Railway Inn Froghall: - Robinsons Tied house but normally a choice of Beers and the Excellent menu, plenty to choose from, food is excellent! Dave, I also have the Blue & Grey version here but its not as well finished as Lee's will be as it was a bodge I did a few years ago. Bodies will be interchanged when done! Al.
