  1. That Bridge is stunning, looking forward to seeing this progress!
  2. Some really interesting pictures in here, especially liking the Scottish & South Western ones, some fond memories! Not wishing to be picky, but that definitely not 701. My guess would be something between 689-694, its definitely a 37/5 (ex center panel) as its still got the bodyside window and i can't think of any others that we refurbished in that livery. Al.
  3. Shed is really looking the part, I'm considering something similar once I get in the shed properly. How wide is the board its on? Al
  4. 31's looking good Lee. Really can't get excited about these new fangled locos in flashy liveries! Won't be long till you'll be knocking out some 60087's in Colas colours I'm sure, at least they have a relatively plain bodyside!!
  5. Rather liking those tractors Lee, especially 054 in departmental Grey, got a fancy for 072 & 088 at some point (I have a lima 088 tucked away somewhere).
  6. Nice work Lee, especially the tractors. Though 54 appears to have had a rough shunt!!!
  7. Looking good Lee. Are you doing all of the 40's???????
  8. Hi John, There are a few people in the UK modelling Aussie prototypes. I'm dabbling with Victorian Broad Gauge, and Ian Hunter's 'Broadford' will be at Wigan 7/8th June which although Victorian runs Victorian & NSW models due to it being on the Melbourne-Sydney route. Al
  9. From my memory of being involved in putting HTA's & 60's then 59's on the LBT/Fiddlers trains, 66's would lift 19 HTA's out of LBT, but were downloaded in the wet where as a 59 or 60 would happily lift 23, possibly more but constrained by the RR loop at LBT. The difference in loadings subsequently became apparent on running LBT to Ratcliffe services, when these were increased to 23 HTA's, a 59 couldn't get up Caverswell bank, but a 60 would.
  10. 56042 was used as the test bed for some of the parts used when the 58's were built, including the bogies.
  11. Some great work there Lee, I've been meaning to suggest 60163 suit a Thornaby Kingfisher in that Livery!
  12. Any idea what the split box monster on the right is? I'm guessing possibly 37032. Great shots!
  13. Looking very good!! I should have remembered that only 37/0 and some steam loco's had those sand traps, We had some stolen off 37075 at one point, clearly to order! I've been meaning to order some of Pete's ETH sockets for a while, out of interest what material did you have them printed in? Al.
  14. I'm pretty sure that 308 in pale blue in the background. Cheers, Al.
  15. Glad the pictures have been of help. Looking good!
  16. I posted a load of bogie detail shots of 37075 here last year: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/73857-class-37-detail-pictures/ Might be of some use to you. Cheers, Al.
  17. Some really nice work there. I'm liking the Highland Headlamps!
  18. I'm intrigued to see pictures of 201 with black numbers, I don't ever recall seeing any! Nice variation though, always like tractors with black numbers.
  19. I can see why this photo was banned, something noisy missing from the roof of the nearest 37?? Looking forward to reading the article. Al
  20. While I was digging out a couple of Tractor Pix for the other thread I came across this, again not a great Scan but 56019 at Bournemouth, having worked from Birmingham and about to work back!! It had previously worked a Manchester- Paignton (1V50 I think) as far as Birmingham and at the time I was living in Exeter. Rumour had it that it wouldn't com west but would work the Bournemouth forward form Birmingham so after a leap of faith I set off for Baisingstoke. I think an RFD Duff worked the Paignton forward from Brum. Cheers, Al.
  21. My former stead appears to have some rather strange looking additions to the tail lights there. And 37075, for me in much happier times! And one of my mates pictures, If i remember rightly I was about to drag the Brakedown Crane out of Oakmoor for a phot charter the following day: A couple of others I have just found on this comp, these are scans so apologies for the quality. 37414 at International: 37425 & 37420 at Chester: And 37426 (I think) at Holyhead: I really should sort my pictures out....... Cheers, Al
  22. Some really nice Carlisle shots here, especially the Snow Ploughs 37088 Clydebridge by the looks of it. Cheers, Al.
  23. Watch out with you're combination of nose ends & Roofs - if my memory serves me correctly 409's roof will be suitable for 423/610/611/612 (note 610 & 612 are both RSH locos) with the /6 ends like your friends in the picture above as they're all ex center panel 37's, 601-609 are all ex split box loco's so will have a flush end. Take a look at the No2 end roof, ex split box are ribbed, ex center panel are smooth. Also 409 is an ex Vulcan Foundry loco so doesn't have the additional ribbing on the cant rail grills that RSH ones do (606 being an ex split box RSH example). But after all that, at the end of the day its your model and enjoy whatever you do with it!!!! Al.
  24. Dave, 088 did, though its a mixed bag of Black/yellow boxes and different numbers ( I have a lima re-paint somewhere!) as did 072 but then you need a center panel one end - one loco I have always wanted to do!! Al
  25. Just found two others while looking for something else. Hope these are of some use!
