  1. Battery switches? That's debatable depending on the driver!!!!!
  2. RF 08 looks great. I take it you will be taking us through from the 60's/70's all the way to the 2000's at our show then? A different decade every hour?
  3. Nipped out for a bit of a hike this morning to find 37418 & 37423 plying there trade in the hills............

  5. Finally got my build and write up finished for Paul Rolley's Impressionist Models MAA/MAB wagon. If you fancy a read here it is: Impressionist Models MAA/MAB Review
  6. 2022 Review. Well, a year where quite a bit finally happened, back to shows, personal highs & lows, a change of jobs and some actual modelling! Dovedale made its debut at our MIOG show then a successful stint at the Doncaster GoG show. The next layout is already in progress but halted while we sort something else out. 26005 is still not quite finished (I will get this done and out and about in the new year), the 101 has finally made some progress (if I can get Cam to finish the black I can transfer it up and get it finished!). Another rake of YCV Turbots which have captivated a lot of people. New models made it onto across the WB included 33051, 37418 & 47114 for me and work done on 47303 for Cam, HRA, MAB & Dogfish wagons along with some 28 (I think) of Dapols HEAs.. 2023 Hopes & Aspirations Layout wise, Dovedale needs a little TLC, hopefully has a photoshoot in the new year and a couple of outings. We need to get a layout we’ve had in re-wired and re-worked to appear at MIOG in March and the new layout provisionally called ‘High Street’ will be making progress. As to stock, more HEAs to do and move on. A second HRA needs finishing for MIOG along with some parts for a couple of kit manufacturers followed by a number of other items currently in works, so watch this space! Thanks to everyone who has popped in here and my layout threads, have a Great New Year and let’s see what 2023 will bring, I am looking forward to turning even more models out, a good weekend and MIOG and attending a few more shows.
  7. Looking good. What method did you use for the fading or is it a complete re-praint?
  8. Yeah, post 82' I think its only really in industrial settings. I keep thinking of moving it on but I do have something up my sleave, just means a lot more work!
  9. Damn it. Would have put in an appearance but otherwise engaged. Could do with seeing Brian from Shawplan too!
  10. I've a spare 08 kicking around but its an early one. was thinking of moving it on but seeing this faded blue I may have to find a candidate, wonder how late anything with original lights lasted? I'll have to do some digging.
  11. Looking good Nick. They're a fantastic little wagon to work on and so much variation to them. I took 9 of the 11 I planned on moving on round to Cam's tonight and he's had 7 of them so I'll have to do some more!!
  12. Yes, I could do with some extra steps, I think I have some off Turbots somewhere. I think the ladders started to get removed by EWS in the early 2000's, there was an incident in Doncaster Yard involving a tank wagon under the wires.
  13. And so my HEA's affliction continues. RF HEA off the WB along with 4x Mainline Blue ones. The RF one is pretty much a full repaint, the Mainline ones renumbered and patch painted. These will be for disposal in the new year but a friend of mine will be having a couple first. I am actually really pleased with how the RF one has come out, it was an exercise in really battering one up.
  14. Maybe: Repainted By Name Bescot TMD https://www.flickr.com/photos/37190-dalzell/13283603364/
  15. Thanks folks. 506 EMU looks about the closest but other than some expensive Shapeways prints, there doesn't seem to be any kits in 7mm scale. I will keep glugging away. A set of drawings would be fantastic but they are also somewhat of a rarity. I have found some on the Barrowmore site but they are not that great, more a basic layout rather than something more useful.
  16. Thats my problem, I need to find something that has the correct profile or as near as damn it! Everything I read says MK1 family, but they're clearly not.
  17. Anyone know what coach bodies the 303's were based on, all I can find is reference to MK1's but the profile doesn't look the same.
  18. Been a while since I updated this. FNA is now pretty much in Primer, hopefully get some top coat on it this weekend but we will see. The WRD has been concentrating on HEA's at the moment, there seems to have been another influx!! Still a bit to go but these are nearly ready for either traffic or disposal.
  19. Bumper stock of transfers picked up from Steve on Sunday at Warley included an array of numbers and detail bits for Dapol's new 7mm HEA so an evening of transfers ensued!
  20. I'll have to take a look at that tomorrow, nice and compact.
  21. High Mike, How are the Gresley EMU bogies coming? and what length are they? I am assuming they are 8'6" (trailing) and 9' (motor)? Also would it be possible to get just a pair of 124 cab ends? Cheers, Al.
  22. Assuming your plan is 31465 (I think it was the only NR ETH one), then my guess would be it was rotten when overhauled and it was easier to just plate over.
  23. The warehouse has had the pointing done and window frames painted. Just need to sort guttering and touch in the window blanks now. And the FNA wagon is now ready for paint!
