DEMU ShowCase 2023 Exhibition 17th & 18th June
Calnefoxile replied to grahame's topic in Exhibitions
Why?? Are you re-gauging it again to TT this time ๐๐๐ Cheers Neal. -
Looking good Andy, will see you in the morning. Looking forward to seeing the layout, finally!! Regards Neal.

Paul, My BOC's have stalled a bit as well, other stuff has got in the way and gone up the production list, really must get on with them. Actually the thing that has stalled them is bogies availability. I don't want to stick them all on GPS25's and would like to put a couple on Glocs MK4's but can't get hold of them in N... Thanks for the info on the Polybulk, I'm not as skilled at scratch-building as you are ๐ Cheers Neal. P.S. Will you be at the NGS York soiree??
-
Paul, Excellent mate. I wonder how it compares to a 'naked' NGS Polybulk?? Might have to look into that and maybe kitbash an NGS one. Project for the NGS Show possibly.... See you next weekend Andy. Cheers Neal.
-
Andy, As it's the Arnold one it'll be at 1:160, so how does it stack up size wise against a Farish/NGS Kit one?? I might grab a couple for Farmers Drove. Cheers Neal.
-
@bmthtrains - David Well I suppose you ought to bring it to the Calne Show at some point, especially as you bought your other 2 layouts to us, and no there won't be any offers from any of us to purchase it ๐๐ Excellent layout David. Cheers Neal.

I'm disappointed I couldn't get along to the SWAG do yesterday, but the domestic authorities snaffled my time, but I'm happy to bring along an N Gauge Layout next year as I'm now the proud owner of Mr Farmers fabulous Farmers Drove. https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/118299-farmers-drove-late-70s-in-the-fens/page/9/#comment-5127931 Regards Neal.

Bristol Model Railway Exhibition, 28-30th April 2023

Have you seen a Floor Plan?? Where is that published?? I was aware of it on Facebook but it seems to have disappeared!! Regards Neal. -
@The Fatadder Thanks for bringing it to the Show and, even accepting the mickey taking ๐ , well done for completing the rebuild in such a short space of time. Whenever I saw it, which wasn't very often, it seemed to be running ok. Hopefully it'll be even better for DEMU Showcase in June. Cheers Neal.

I have to report that I am the new keeper of this wonderful layout, so it's in safe'ish hands ๐๐ Yes it will be still available for exhibitions as soon as I've built a new support structure for it, because Steve needed the one it was on at Glasgow for his other layouts, however it's having it's first outing in my ownership rather earlier than expected. Due to a layout having to pull out of the Calne Show on 15th/16th April, Farmers Drove will be drafted in as a replacement. So I have 3 weeks to build the support structure and lighting rig, sort out my stock, add staples to Peco wagons so the uncouplers work, oh and find a controller to use. So not a lot. ๐ฑ๐ฑ Regards Neal.

Huw, I can't answer for MERG, but DEMU hasn't been contacted at all. Regards Neal. -
Rob @37114 No Iain isn't a member any more, and Broadford was supposed to be at the Calne Show, but unfortunately has had to pull out due to the access issues. Maybe next year ๐ Regards Neal.

The link to the Societies is still showing the 2022 list and not the 2023 list, but no DEMU have yet again not been invited, despite being a stalwart of the show for many many years. But I also believe that the N Gauge Society haven't been invited either?? Regards Neal. -

Good to see you back Paul. Those scans look awesome. What powered chassis are you designing this around?? Regards Neal. -
In my humble opnion the biggest gap in the N Gauge Market at the moment is AC Electrics, i.e. 81 - 85, Dapols 86 is acceptable and Farish haven't produced the 87 for donkeys years. Bachmann did say, a few years ago, they'd reduce their OO catalogue to N however that seems to have been chucked out the window. Regards Neal.

Hornby TT120 points question ?
Calnefoxile replied to InTheTrainShed's topic in 2.5mm Scale - TT:120
Basically yes. The tabs conduct the power from the rail to the switch blade, and so should touch the bottom of the relevant switch blade. Cheers Neal. -
