  1. I think it is meant to mean, awaiting final CADs, model due Q1 2019
  2. Don't forget 2mm mini meet and Bomins last outing. I'll be on duty as a steward on Saturday and demonstrating n gauge road vehicles etc on Sunday, look forward to seeing some of you there.
  3. It was a simple question to ask Hattons why not N gauge when you are doing 2 other scales, if you don't like people discussing this ignore the thread. People are and have done it themselves so why not Hattons was a fair question, besides it would be a big risk taking on a warwell as Hattons have the research done and produced it in 2 scales, they could quickly design the N gauge version.
  4. We don't expect them to, the question was asked several times in several threads with no replies, so this thread was started (not by me, by the way). They have now done several commisions in OO and announced a few in O gauge so it was fair to say what about N gauge. The warwell was an obvious choice for all 3 scales, personally I would not expect them to risk a loco in N gauge but a wagon or coach possible a re-livery. When it comes to putting ones own money up front I have done that in a past life with limited editions, kits and looked at RTR all in N gauge so fully understand the costs. Now the situation has changed as Hattons Dave has come on this thread and answered the direct question, see post 66. Personally I think this is disappointing from probable the biggest model retailer but that is their prerogative, as it is mine as to where I spend my money.
  5. Roy give up, I have linked to the interview and then given my summary of the situation as I see it, not just the interview. Very fine line between not looked at N gauge (past tense) and not at the moment (current). Hattons have now come on here and replied for which I am very grateful, thank you Hattons Dave.
  6. Hi I am stating my opinion so no I won't alter it, I and others have asked on their threads about N gauge several times and had no reply. I would not expect them to make a loss or next to no profit, but to claim they care about the hobby and then not answer polite questions is rude. I for one will put my money where my mouth is and support Kernow MC who are supporting N gauge by producing limited editions occasionally.
  7. See the interview here post 5 ( 7 miniutes in) http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/126141-andrew-barclay-14-16-0-4-0st-in-oo-gauge/&do=findComment&comment=2850167 Not looked at N gauge, never answers questions, not interested at all, not enough money in it while claiming to care about the hobby (well only the very profitable bits).
  8. To call me cynical when you have no idea of the market is rich but I was being a little sarcastic. Hattons are chasing the higher profit margin scales, fact a O and OO wagon will cost simular to design and tool as the n gauge. Production costs will differ but not by as much as you think but the perceived value and hence the retail price will. This leads to greatest profit in O gauge which until now has had little cost effective supply. As an n gauge if I was at Dapol I would chase O money but not forgot who got them to where they are, n gauges.
  9. The size of N Gauge market is putting Hattons off, rubbish O gauge is smaller market share yet they are doing wagons in that scale. When I asked in the OO & O gauge Warwell thread about doing N Gauge as well I never even got the courtesy of a reply. Hattons are happy taking money off n gauge modelers but don't want to make any effort for it. This probably because the profit margins is smaller than in OO & O gauge (guessing).
  10. My Class 37 and ECC wagons arrived yesterday and are really nice. The 37 livery is spot on the flags on the front are very neatly represented and the BR arrows / lizard logo looks neat. I am very happy not ran it yet but will test it soon. I have often supported Kernows N gauge limiteds like the Hymeks, Choc/cream bubble car, helston gas wagons, Some OO buildings and vehicles and the recent clay hoods and now these. I hope these do well and we occasionally get a few more, skpper class 142 next please?
  11. But Ben the dogfish and that generation of Dapol N Gauge were and probably still are manufactured at Chirk. The N Gauge Collette went to China only a few years ago to do a limited edition run, a few other tools may also have gone out. Dapol to the best of my knowledge have been moulding, painting, printing, assembling and packaging many products in various scales for over 10years. This just an upgrade of what they already do, which may increase speed, quality or other options.
  12. 3 & 14 are very interesting, 14 looks like it could be ECC, with a bit of work. 3 military easy. Not sure I can afford 2 though.
  13. As the dead line is looming I thought I would give this a bump and remind those who are still thinking that time is of the essence.
  14. ECC seem to have used the 0-4-0 version of these. Does anyone have any pictures of a 0-6-0 version in ECC livery ideally from 80s to early 90s?
  15. Any chance of these in N Gauge to go with the other 2 scales,I would have thought they would be very popular?
  16. If you pay with your credit card you may have cove, so it is similar to a holiday. The big difference here is that holiday companies have gone bust with people paid up sometime £1000s some stuck on holiday kicked out of hotels, That is the only reason you now have holiday insurance, on offer here is a product worth less than £200 which you could protect by paying through your credit card. If enough of these projects fail, I am sure some bright spark rip off merchant insurance company will be along to offer you a policy. On Kickstarter I have backed over 80 projects to date only 2 have not delivered, which is a shame but it is a risk.
  17. Did you consider doing these in N Gauge as well? I am sure they would be very popular and with plenty of vehicle kits available to go on them.
  18. I have backed this one for a set of three unbranded, unfortunately can't afford more at the minute. I hope this works out as it will open up other prototypes of earlier years.
  19. Not sure, I have never had my own section, ask Andy.
  20. Might be worth pinning this thread to the top, good luck guys.
  21. So did they make there debt Dave, the class 71 pictures look good?
  22. CJM one isn't perfect from memory no lights and how do you know the Dapol one will be inaccurate? Has it even gone to tooling yet, if not changes can be made? I suspect we may get an update next weekend at the Dapol Open day. Personally I can't afford a CJM one and really could wait to 2018 to get a few Dapol ones, certainly for the cost of 1 CJM one. CJM also uses his standard chassis if memory serves so that may be wrong as well. Sorry but I am a well known Dapol apologist, so I a may be wrong.
  23. Were these used in the late 80s to deliver fuel to Long Rock or to Hayle Wharfs?

    Dapol 08

Straight to mud slinging then, bully boy tactics. Yes before I closed N'Tastic Shop I commissioned some wagons of Dapol, also spoke to Oxford Diecast, Base Toys and others. A year ago I was running a Kickstarter for a N Gauge mermaid wagon which would have been done by Dapol as they had already done it in OO so what. I now have no interest other than getting on with a couple of them, deceleration I also know a couple of people at Bachmann, get on with Revolution Trains, know DJM, had dealings with Oxford Diecast does that mean I can't comment on them as well master? Now many people know who I am too speak to as I have a real name and attend shows etc, perhaps you should declare who you are?
