Have you thought of printing the 4-wheel coaches?
-
They have a plow on the front of all the locos - more of a cow-catcher though. We just don't have the big f**kers you guys do...
-
Stay safe! Let us know how it went when you get back!
-
Have I missed how you built this? I'd be keen for something like this at home too...!
OK I did miss it... Would you be able to post a howto - electronics, framing, etc?

Hi Jan
The previous version didn't have the problem. The runners hold the yard horizontally quite nicely so there isn't much gradient on the shelves. Even my most free running stock doesn't roll about. I am considering how to switch the DCC power off to the unselected levels. The chance of selecting a loco not aligned with the exit road and driving it off is probably a more likely risk than the rolling loose vehicle.
David
Could you not mount end-boards for the non-track-level stock?

How does CBUS/MERG gear integrate with the Digitrax gear I already have? Can it?

There is a Finer N gauge track system under development, progress on which can be seen here : http://www.ngaugefor...hp?topic=3280.0No connection other than an interested observer! One thing I would say is if you start using Easitrac and get to grips with constructing point work (which is not as difficult as people think thanks to the jigs available), you will find it very difficult to go back to Peco!Tom.
On that note.. I wonder how hard or reliable it would be to do the same thing from the other angle - 3d printing? You could do some really complex bits of trackwork that way...
-
I'd actually be keen for EEN... Although not too keen to have to pay for membership to the 2mm sa to be able to get the right stuff for it...
How hard is it to connect up Easitrak to standard peco kit?

One thought - perhaps make a plastic cover that folds out from the walls and hangs over? soft plastic with timber holding it on the wall and a weight on the other side of the layout could work? Fold it out of the way when it's rabbit-supervising time and cover the layout afterwards
-
I'm going down the same route now too... Will be godo to have some reliable track to be able to just get out and play with... and not be disheartened about progress at all
-
Oh how I wish I could see this in person!
Maybe you could make a special trip down with it to the next Chch show?
Can you show us your view of it too?
-
Thats OK. Everyone has those moments (especially me! )
-
Will this be N or 00? It looks really impressive and I look forward to seeing it progress!
-
Sounds like a 20x11 challenge entry idea to me...
-
This will be incredibly interesting to see!
-
Will be interesting to see how you get on. I'm going to be attempting the same in N eventually...
-
Nicely done
-
That's a nice farm... would you call it a typical layout for that sort of age?
If so, I may just have to utilize your links
-
It looks amazing already! Can't wait to see it complete!

Hi Kiwinewt, I can sen you the box file but you will need Templot to edit it, sorry if I have missed the obvious and you do have it! Think you plan looks good, and as Nike say "just do it" part of the reason for my just doing it was I didn't mind making mistakes and moving on and learning from my mistakes.
The problem for me is getting a short way into it and having *everything* else coming up, leading to not being able to get anything done on it for months... and then losing motivation to do anything more. I think with settrack it should help this, and help me get things done faster/easier, in turn letting me play trains sooner for more motivation
-
Please post your templot version... I would be keen to have a play with this layout too
Although given my luck of recent I will likely attempt to do it in settrack... maybe it will help stop me getting so discouraged so quickly...
What do you think?

How do you have block occupancy with the reader though? Is it upon entering/exiting a block, or is it a RFID reader for the length of that block?
